In need of some help... so the PO of my truck jerry rigged the throttle valve solenoid on the carb. I'm installing a trollhole carb and need to get this straightened out so I can install the carb and do a valve adjustment.

They spliced the solenoid directly into the harness, so I don't have a female end to plug the new carb into. When I was removing the carb I just cut the wires... I realize I probably should've removed the solenoid from the old carb, but the damage is done.

Can I find a female end to it for a permanent fix? Or am I stuck with splicing into the new one? Also there are two wires in the old one and just one in the trollehole.

What the hell do I do?

I believe the second wire (black w/white stripe) is just an additional ground.

Whoops. Contact Marshall. If your swapping to his carb then you don't need to worry about what was before. Right? Or simply wire up a jumper from the green wire on the old plug to the wire on the new carb. And ground the not green wire on the old plug to the new carbs body. @Landpimp?

Yup contact marshal but basically from the harness you get one as ground and one as 12v power that controls the solenoid. You can easily check that with a test light to see which on fires when you turn the key to ACC. Once you figure that out you can then just "hot wire" another end to the Trollhole for power and be done with it.

As for the adjusting the valve lash... do it cold it will be much easier to do. And when you are doing add about .01 to .02 to the stock measurements and just ensure that they are all nicely tight. This is what I have done twice now with great results.

Are Trollhole and Marshall one in the same? Maybe a stupid question, but I didn't actually buy the carb directly from TH. It was listed on here in the parts classifieds brand new.
