Stopped by my buddies shop to give him some headlights I grabbed off a parts cruiser so I got to visit my old girl again.

For those of you that don't know I got this cruiser 4 years ago for $1,200 and after a couple months sold it to my good friend Ben.

Well time for an update;

Got a 3.8 gallon Waterport tank and installed it for a bachelor party I went to in Fruita. This thing worked great, 3 of us were able to use one charge on it to wash our hair before I had to add more water and charge it up. I love it.

Some muddy cruisers In fruita!
Two cruisers.jpeg

These bogs were fun, cleaning the mud off was not..

And my transfercase's easily ignorable minor drip has now become a hard to ignore, severe drip... Soooo I guess it's time to rebuild the seals and bearings on the old H2AF transfer case....

Some more bogging

While it was super fun to dick around in these bogs we found out later that the mud was packed with larger aggregate which once it dried made it just like concrete... So it took 30 mins at the high-pressure car wash in Fruita to get the first layer off then another hour at home to get the second layer... And there's still more, so I can still affirm that iH8mud.

And the bride-to-be hid 6 Smirnoff ices' throughout the grooms truck, trailer and camping gear. She successfully got our buddy Ryan again.

And again this time at Nic's party 2019

It seems like modifications and renovations get poured on my cruiser when it is on the injured reserve list. I've been meaning to completely renovate the accessory electrical fuse and relay block. My plan was to use some fancy bussman relay/fuse block combos but when I priced everything out my enthusiasm waned.

Well today on my way home I remembered that I have a complete extra electrical harness that I removed when I did my engine rebuild. What would be better than a factory fuse/relay block plummed for my accessories? So while I'm waiting for my transfer case seals and bearings the process started... Yes it looks like a total rats nest but my vision is to make it as neat as the factory.

Accessory Fuse and Relay Block is wired, color-coded and tested, ready to go in. Tomorrow I have to figure out how/where to mount it.

Bench testing all the fuse pins and relay functions:

Closed up for installation:

Wow! Impressive work! What will you use all that electrical space for? I can’t imagine. But then again, I still use a yeti ice chest.

Finally Finished my electrical rework.

Heres most of what came out. (doesn't show the handful of loose relays and relay harnesses since I pulled those out and put them in a salvage bin)

Goodbye blue sea fuse block

Some may look at this and still think it's a clutter mess but it's not when you realize what all is going on here and it's light years beyond the previous setup. Now I just need to find where I put the fuse block cover.....

For reference, this is what the previous version looked like when it was shiny and fresh. It got much nastier as the grime, mud and nasty got all over it.

I just made an excel spreadsheet with everything on it, printed it and taped it to the lid. Eventually, I'll have a real weatherproof label made but this is the concept. The colors correspond to the color of the blade fuse for each location. Also relocated my charcoal canister to the other side of the engine bay to make room.

Tonight it was time to do some upkeep on my other poor financial decision. Probably should have checked the air filter when I bought it.

Nothing like finding out that the previous owner never changed the air filter once, yes that date stamp says May 5th 2011. But the good news is the car has a bunch more pick up now.

All of this crap came off the filter and out of the box

So I got some amazon cash from work for being a swell guy which means I got to buy some new toys.

First off I've been looking at security systems for a while since my rig lives outside and has a ton of goodies on it so I bought a Viper 5305V 2 way system. Really excited for the remote start and keyless entry, there are so many other moduals I could add on as well to control auto down/up windows, GPS tracking / cellular notification and control, all sorts of sensors etc. But I'll wait on those.

Viper 5305V came in today. Now I need to map out the connections it needs and spend a week or two planning how to do it in a clean fashion.
