primer is martin senor cp400 epoxy primer
paint is martin senor 5.0 voc acrylic enamel
single stage 53 intermix
went with this cause i get a discount thru work. plus it’s what we use at my work.
it’s gonna needs some wet sanding.
I’m pretty pleased for it being paint i a garage.
Also i will be forever reminded about how i should have put down more cover. if anybody needs pieces that i have made i may have some leftover. just ask! last photo is there i masked off the dash. with a little polish the old color on the left should be close. Just going for nice enough. got lots left to do. but with the tube painted i can check a big box

pieces are heading back in the right direction now. trans hump is on. plumbing the gas tank. I wish it was a metal one but i’ll deal with that later. The whole doghouse needs to be painted yet. I’m hoping to get the fenders over the long weekend here. The hood windshield frame and bib need rust repair. in due time.

Some Progress fuel lines ran. So I put a little fire to it.

First start since September of 2018.
Primed the fuel lines then a bit of choke and it fired on the first turn.
A bit of penetrating fluid burning off from where I removed the smog rail and put the plugs in.

a little more of an update. been busy getting every little part put back on. it seems like every thing takes 30-60 to do. waiting on cooling system parts. to really run it. wheels need to be sourced the PO’s choice is very lame in my opinion.

Starting on the windshield frame hoping to channel waiting for time trying to get the bottom seam open to get the inside panel loose. once i get the profile i can recreate a patch panel. How does on open the bottom seam where the outside panel bends over the inner panel?

Just continue from the side to pry it open.
If you use a vise grip like this one on the inside corner,
68E68450-C79D-453E-8FD0-E4EDFD9E2050.jpeg

you can keep the material flat while bending it 90 degr open.
You must open the sides of the top lip too, just until the tab left and right.
Looking at your bottom you probably have to replace the lip too.
Let me know if you need mere virtual help.

Are you planning on just replacing the bottom without removing the glass?
I would recommend to separate the inner and Outer frame to prevent rust comming through later.

thanks for the input. I agree removing the glass drilling out the spot welds would be the best way. Currently the plan is to spray a rust prevention paint on the upper seam near glass cut out the rot and fab a patch panel. I’m hoping to not have to remove the glass. I will probably have to pull it to paint properly.

Dang that’s some seriously good (straight) cutting. Nice

So on another note ie a “squirrel” had to deal with the old wheels. The PO was kind enough to leave a few pounds of mud between the tires and the rims. A bead breaker and a good assistant. Hopefully they will hold air for more then a day and a half. Yes that is a rock on the bead. That is what happens when your lazy PO doesn’t clean the bead off .

Some progress. Still need to cut the defrost and wiring holes out. Of course sanding and preping to paint it. I think i’ve got a odd wiper motor. the cover i have fits the original holes but the PO had drilled holes for a differant cover.
