What do those horizontal rod end on the frame side of the upper look like at full droop? I would be worried that they wouldn't have enough misalignement mounted that way to get full stuff to full droop. But maybe since you will be limited on shock length it won't be a big deal.

Plenty of room even past full droop of the shock, not worried at all.
That's what I was thinking on the rod end, guess I'll be changing it. If a rod end is not "proper" for the wish bone what is? I have seen hundreds of wishbones and almost all of the use a rod end at the axle end?

Something like a poly performance uniball

Even a uniball would need to be mounted horizontally to avoid side-loading, so I'd think that it needs to be changed anyways. I have seen rod ends used on tons of wishbones similar to yours (but mounted horizontally) and they hold up great. Change the mount and run it. You won't have issues with it.

Same wishbone set up very stable at 100+

The break was the result of a high speed roll. The truck had a few of the ball socket set ups and other then the break during roll held and remained tight over thousand of hard off road miles.

Nice! Just gusset the upper mount on the housing (I'm sure that is already in the plans) and you're golden. :)

Krazytoy,

This project looks to have great potential. I look forward to seeing the end product and reading of the race results.

Also, thanks for the education on 3 link and 4 link Watt's Linkage suspension systems. I have limited mechanic experience and knowledge. However, reading into this thread has been an enjoyable read that has given me some clarity on such suspension system choices for my FZJ80.

Best of luck on the M-80. Light it up!

Life changed and I ended up moving and had to sell most everything for now. I may get back into in a year or two...

That's a bummer! But I understand about life changes, you have to go with the flow.

Sorry to hear, and good luck with the transitions..
