Nowhere near as good as the blasphemy would imply...

Haven't tried that one yet.... The peanut butter is throwing me off.

My father in law is in town this week and between doing projects around the house and outside (while the weather is permitting him to do it) we have been trying a few new brews. When I first met him all he drank was bud lite. His horizons got expanded quite a bit when he went drinking with me in Scotland for my wedding but went back to his old ways when he went home. Then he moved to Oregon where you can't get away from craft beer. So he picked these up for us from total wine yesterday.

I've been waiting for hop hunter to come out for a while. While it is a very stout beer I was a little underwhelmed from what it was supposed to be. A year round wet hop beer. Not quite that good but still good.

Finally got some Pinner and it was exactly what it was supposed to be a smooth oldschool ipa. Made me think of some of sierra nevada's past brews from the 90's. Not a huge amount of hops at all but tasty and could be thrown back all day. A true "session" IPA although I hate the term.

I picked up some Hop Hunter yesterday for the weekend - you just let the air out of my balloon of anticipation :D

So, did the Pinner live up to it's name with the smell?

 R

Hop hunter is still a good beer just not what I thought it would be.

Kinda on the pinner. I had just come from 3 hours from the pick n pull junk yard trying to track a few parts down in the lively weather yesterday so my nose may not have been working to its fullest.

interesting. Not as adventurous or spicy as I had imagined. pretty much a tasty stout with a slight heat signature afterward more than a flavor to the stout.

can't do any kind of spice in my beers.... don't know why just doesn't hit me right.

Went to asheville with some family on saturday. Tried ever beer at Hi Wire Brewing and every beer at Asheville brewing. Also had the green man double IPA...... it is my new favorite IPA from NC for sure.

Grabbed some beers from bruisin ales (only had 2 of them so far)

Coronado does not seem capable of making a bad beer. Everything i've had from them seems top notch i'm really digging this brewery right now. Their newest IPA is great and has a great name. Skull Wrapper IPA

Next one of my old staples.... it is hard to find a smoother and tastier ale out there.

Yesterday at the charlotte meeting I had every beer at olde meck.... that brewery is great for sure.

The pictures don't really do it justice I should have taken more.

@mtweller how did you like the hop hunter???

I think it's a solid IPA, with a twist I'm not used to but enjoy. Won't be one I'm scouring the county to find, like moths to a flame (read HopSlam). I enjoyed no doubt. I now have a single can of Pinner in the fridge to try soon. Have heard mention of the Coronado Devils Tale IPA... but haven't really been on the hunt yet.

 R

yeah a solid beer mos def but one that i'll not be running out to find at 6am when the stores open. Haven't seen the new hopslam in stores yet but I only scour when i've never had it before.

Anyone have an opinion on sierra nevada's beer camp 2015 - hoppy lager?

It's eyeballing me at the store but need my advisory board to weigh in.

It wasn't bad.... I'm not a huge fan of hoppy lager. I prefer mine to be smoother

Another lagunitas winner. Not sure what exactly it was other than a tasty dark ale ....

Nice refrigeration technique! Ups the cool factor, like a Coors ad.

I thought it was a very good beer.
