My bro lives on spruce st 5 mins from college. Go to a beer place/restaurant called jupiter.

Weird why u stayin in plesanton and workin in bekeley?!

When you go to Anchor make sure you try the Liberty Ale (the first IPA made in the US) and Old Foghorn.... great strong beer.

Well s***, I didn't get out of my interviews today until an hour after I thought I was and they only do reservations for tours, so I don't think it's going to happen this trip :frown:

I guess I'll have to hit them up when I'm out there again in the spring :D

I think spruce beer was originated in America when the beer was safer to drink then the water.

Moose Drool Brown Ale from Big Sky Brewing Company in MT is hands down one of the best beers ever made for session drinking.
Rogue Shakespear Stout is my favorite stout followed close by Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Anything out of a cask or cask conditioned I'll drink all night.
Drink a lot of Bass and Fat Tire.
Any beer in my hand is currently my favorite though.
I've drank a lot of beer in a lot of places so I am looking forward to the continuation of this thread.

Skol, Brahma, and Bohemia are the favorites down here in Brazil, but they're mostly like Corona. A lot like Pilsen and Imperial in Costa Rica. Good for the locale, when you want something and it's hot outside, but I'd also go with an IPA or dark ale for casual drinking.....

Spruce beer was actually an invention of the vikings

Good taste in beers you have there. I'm sure a Navy man has drank in many different places.

Beer in most places along with hard cider were the health drink for centuries. Kings, Pharos, Monks were all infoved in making beer with 3-4% alcohol as the drink for subjects and workers to keep them healthy.... it wasn't until coffee and tea came along that they started to be replaced and then when science actually realized what it was that made them healthy that water purification came around.

As usual, I love just about everything that Epic makes, but this Double Wide, not my bag. Waaaay too much carbonation, bland flavors overall. I won't purchase it again.

I've had one beer that was worse than this and I'm trying like hell to forget it.

That's not beer, it's hard cider. I think it's pretty good for a cider. Absolutely horrible as a beer, but good as a cider.

it says organic that right there tells me its crap!

guessing your not a hard cider man then..... that is one of the better ones. They also make great mimosa style breakfast drinks.... if you find the right stuff to mix it with.
In Britain you can order what is a Dark Cider. It is a little bit of Ribena (you can get it here in some supermarkets in the international section) mixed in with it.... it is a great drink.

Sorry I called it a beer.

Maybe I love the wrong kinds of hard cider. Skrumpy's is good. Perhaps you didn't notice the "Irish Stout Yeast" and "Organic Molasses". This is the first time I've seen this style from Crispin. It's pretty damn dark - like a stout - which appealed to me until I tasted it.

Exxon at Providence/Fairview has cases of the stuff for $3/bottle. 22oz bottles. Rest assured that I won't buy them out of this one. That said, I'll be happy to pick some up for those of you who aren't local since I've never seen it anywhere else. Let me know.

The new one I have found is Boulevard's SmokeStack series Sixth Glass which is a 10.5% quad. Very drinkable, which can be a problem with a 10 percenter.

Jeremy.
