I'm more than pleased with the outcome of the door refurbishment. Should the need ever arise that I have to get back into my door shells for any reason, I beleive the 3M VHB tape will allow it. It sure made for a much cleaner application and finished product. Now for my new OEM latch to arrive and I'll finish up my drivers side door.....Thus, "Door Refurbishment" will be complete.
To anyone refurbishing their doors and would like a precut 6 mil vapor barrier, shoot me a PM.
What characteristic was most important in this endeavor? Attention to detail or (as you said previously) being OCD?![]()
I gladly put in a little extra and get the WHOLE-ass!![]()
Can you provide the width and thickness of the VHB strip?I'm more than pleased with the outcome of the door refurbishment. Did you try a piece of plastic film on the VHB first?
I would think that it would grip so tightly that the film would rip.
