Rick...can you give me the part numbers for the OEM door panels?

Did you find all the clips for the panels?

Here is another item that has long since been retired: "Door Cards for my '77 - 67610-90302 & 67620-90302 (these were the dark gray vinyl panels)....Those Toyota OEM cards were replaced with the lighter gray 67610-90304 & 67620-90304 units. I have a set of the 90304 cards and will paint them with the SEM Classic Coat #17223 (Very Dark Pewter). This is a very close match to the OEM dark gray color, so says SEM's color chart they sent me.

Note: The 90304 door panels came with all the 67771-20022 metal clips. I am replacing all the 67772-20021 plastic retainers as well.

It's the small things, ya know.....ran across some paint pens Friday night while out with the family at Wally-World after dinner.

Nice refurbish Rick, did mine a while back too and love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Life is ALL in the details

Next up, the suspension, wheels and tire upgrade. I ordered the OME 2.5" lift, a Warn Winch cover and a set of stock steelies. I Had the stock rims widened out to 9" to hold the new 33X12.50X15 Goodyear Duratrac's. What a major appearance change this made to my 40

Who did the wheel widening? Have any issues with it so far?

The company I used was: Wide Wheels in Calhoun, GA. Owner - Jerry Robbins @ 706-280-0453

I will say that the five initial rims he did for me, two of them had slight leaks. I was in the area the following weekend and took the rims with mounted tires back to him. He had no issues de-mounting the tires, patching his welds, remounting the tires and checking all five of them to make sure they were holding pressure.....that was 2 years ago, and they are doing just fine these days. Hence my FJ40 is sitting outside my office today.

I believe a few MUD members have used him.

Hey ga arch been watching and being inspired by this thread as I'm buildings 78. I saw this pic of what you say the machine shop missed and can't figure out what it is. Can you fill me in as I just finished rebuilding my 2f and wanna make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks in advance and sorry to get off topic.

Not to step on any toes but search "2f galley plug fix"

Finished putting the passenger side door back together with it's new felt, less the new door cards. In the process of cleaning up the drivers side door. Now, I've got to find a new glass panel for this door.

I've also cut some new 6 mil plastic barriers for my doors. The new plastic will be held in place at the top by the door panel inserts and the bottom by VHB tape. No butyl tape for these!

If you've ever wondered how to clean the buytl off the plastic door panel inserts, here is how I did it. I took all my inserts and put them in a glass jar. Then I added a little Xylene and shook them up, dumped the nasty Xylene, added water, shook, dumped the water, added more Xylene, shook, dumped the Xylene, added water, shook and dumped....below is the finished product.

Started prep work on my new OEM door panels. Cleaned them with SEM's soap last night. Will use the vinyl prep tonight, and paint this weekend.

Here is a side by side comparison of the different vinyl color OEM door panels.

I'll be interested in taking this same photo above after I've painted my new OEM door cards.

Sorry, so the OEM door cards are available still but in a lighter color? I think you posted about this but I'm too lazy to go back and find it... ;)

Actually disregard I just went back one whole page to find it lol.

Alright, painted my inner door panels this weekend......yea, they didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted. That SEM's color chart isn't really accurate for the #17223 Very Dark Pewter. So be it, I have some SEM Black 17093 on the way.....Life goes on!

Good thing is you went with black seats so you don't have to worry about the greys matching. For the headrests of the beige seats I installed in mine I tried one can that looked close but after test spraying it wasn't even close. Took it to a car upholstery place and he matched it perfectly. Cost $100 which is a lot more than a can but for my application it really had to match.
