I will add that I sent a setup down to Rotomaster (Vancouver) and Alamo (Calgary) and both people said the balancing was very accurate for the compressor wheels I supplied. They both commented that it looked like high end work.

Well to anyone that is interested. I was quoted 1k USD for the following:
This is your ticket for low end boost.

At this point they do not have the larger 8cm housing, just the smaller housing suited for the lower end spool up.
Also threw in a comparison between the CT20B and the TD05H.

Enjoy and post up if anyone ends up buying one. I can say that everything I have bought from them looked of great quality and I got compliments from all the stuff.

How would this compare to the set i bought from you Karter? I have a lack of time, so a straight bolt on turbo would suit me better at this point.

Is this functionally equivalent to the Grunter? Or will this have less top end than the Gturbo?

Sent from my SCH-I535
I can't see this having the same performance, either off the line or top end, as this is an off the shelf unit using common components. Graeme has designed both the comp and turbine wheels in his turbos specifically for the application

Would that fit the 12ht exhaust manifold? Would it suit the 12ht in your opinion??

Sent from my SM-G900I

Yes it would.

You will get more low end because of the change in turbine wheel.

Yes and equivalent.

Then don't believe me, quite frankly I don't care, I'm not trying to profit off it at this point I am merely trying to spread some info out there.
He simply adapted a different series of turbo to the toyota platform. That isn't reinventing the wheel or anything in my mind.

Do we order through you? Or do I just show them that first sheet and tell them I want that. Does that 1k include shipping?

If you compare the average Td05H turbine to the CT20B turbine and a few late model Holset turbines you'll notice a few performance and efficiency trends.

Karter. Very kind of you to share this info. Most folks would not.

X2 I'm sure many of us will be keen to hear how they perform once someone buys one.

Are the CT26/20b CHRA/shaft/turbine housing superior to the TD05H-16g ones or would it be (slightly) better again to run the whole TD05? Aside from losing the ease of fitment of course.

If you get an adaptor made, or better yet Karter makes one and sells them, then all of the single scroll td05 housings are at your disposal. Very tuneable. It is an extremely well supported turbo class. I'd be looking at the STS turbines if you want to build one. Cource stock evo turbos are made for this engine class. I've only been saying that for a few years now mind you. I even bought one although I have no intention of ever using it. The stock evo turbines are very light and flow extremely well. It's probably one of the most amazing stock turbos one can source relatively easily.

I am not making adapters.

The whole reason why this is appealing to me is the lack of adapters. Bolt right up depending if you are already running a ct2* platform.

If anyone pulls the pin keep us posted

Hey lads.. I'm in the process of rebuilding my 1hdt, and going to go down the route of the 7m compressor upgrade on my ct26 while rebuilding the chra.
Is there a guide around somewhere of the mods required?

Errrrm, using kids to do mechanical repairs is kinda like slave labour! :meh:

If you're after a rebuild parts kit, there's any number on ebay.
You need a kit for ct26, or ct20, take your chances on quality with ebay. Check out a few listings to make sure you're getting a complete kit.

I have all the parts here ready to do a 7mgte hybrid.
I'm seriously considering the sumalaya option above. If I wasn't spending a s*** load on a holiday, I'd giving one a go.

By the time you build up a hybrid and put parts into it and get it balanced, the sumalaya turbo looks like a pretty good option. Bolt in, brand new.

Just not sure how tried and proven they are?
