What problems were you running into with your doors? My metal tech ones seem to hit the body up top on the hinge side when fully closed and the latch catch would not work i had to chop it up and drill out the holes because the latch was setting so far forward it wouldn't go over the catch and the holes didn't line up. :( And they don't line up on the catch in the middle lol :meh:

Got them installed. Here are some photos. I hope they aren't too large.

The mounting holes lined up fine for me but I had to cut down the bent piece of metal that is used as a catch to make the doors work properly. They wouldn't latch without me cutting the catch down. The latch DOES line up with the bottom portion of the catch piece but the entire latch is captured by the catch, so I'm not worried.

Are your hinges functioning properly? Let me know if you have any issues hinge related.Matthew

I would like to purchase a set. Please IM me or send me to website if you have sets in stock. Appreciate it. I'm on an iPhone so searching the entire thread is a pain. Thanks.

Hi there, I thought I would just check on order status. I placed an order for a superset on the 23rd (Daniel Allen) and thought I'd ask how the turn time is going. Thanks much!

OK I finally got around to putting on my Quik Hinges. These things are great! Took a little patience, the removal of the gauge cluster, and a stubby ratcheting 12mm box wrench to install the driver's side top hinge but was otherwise easy. The only thing I would add to the provided instructions is, don't final-tighten the body halves until you make a trial fit of your hard doors. There is a lot of room for adjustment both up-and-down and side-to-side in the floating nuts in the tub. I was able to move my hard doors up, for a better seal at the top with the hard top, but had to adjust them side-to-side so the doors would close without pressing on my dash pad and/or roll cage. Also, a small dab of grease on all the hinge pins made it much easier for the doors to drop right on.

I installed my hard doors first, to get the hinge adjustment right as noted, then took them off and tightened up all the body hinge-halves and sealed the tub openings with RTV silicone, then installed my Metaltech tube doors because it's still topless weather for a good while here in Texas. Sorry my truck is pretty dirty in the photos but you can see the Quik Hinges installed. I painted the body and hard-door halves to match the tub and hard doors, but the tube-door halves black to match those:

1911,

Thank you for the added install tips! I will adjust my instructions to include them.

The Metal Tech tube doors look great on your 40. It's great that there is another complimentary aftermarket product available that is easier to use with the hinges. I had originally built the hinges to simplify removing my own doors and maybe building myself some half doors someday. I'm glad I was able to share this with the rest of the fj40 world!

hinges

I bought a set and install then on my current project build while I had the cowl off the tub. it made it much easier than doing it after the assembly.
I test fitted the cowl to the Aqualu tub and put the hinges on the doors for the test fit. WOW! was I pleased on how easy the doors will come off.
Great product and the time to order to ship was great.
Thanks
Gary

I ran into a snag while working on some hinges tonight. My trusty Milwaukee angle grinder died! I'll replace it and be back in "business" asap. I knew it was going, but just kept using it until the inevitable happened.

Anyone have any good suggestions for robust angle grinders that are comfortable to use?

Hey guys, finally after 6 months of no doors, I installed my freshly painted to match door hingest today from OP, and they are absolutely perfect. Another happy owner, thanks man! These things should be a no brainer for ANYONE considering.
