Supporting Vendor
I can see where the extra tab would help in supporting the plate. We did a guard that is completely bolt on. Now if a customer is prepared to weld onto the axle housing, then you can just as easily add a extra tab to our and attach to the axle and support it on the open end in an effort to prevent what happened to TOY350. We have not had any other reports of bolts pulling out.
Time will tell if this was an isolated case or a issue with the bolts not holding. Could have been a hole with compromised threads or any of a multitude of issues. Having a 2nd brace on the open end is definitely a good idea. There will be leverage if you start high centering the truck on the guard. From the pics in TOY350's thread it is obvious thad it made some pretty good contact with a rock. However the actuator was saved except for the pulled out bolt.
