Yeah, i'm hoping to get there, hopefully work will be slow then. I don't think the other partners in my company will be too happy if I disappear for a couple days in the middle of the busy season.
 
Got the banjo bolts in, not sure when I will get the chance to get over to the shop again though.

Things to left do:

Install fuel tank[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Box rear framerails[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Anti-wrap[/STRIKE] bar
[STRIKE]Rear shocks[/STRIKE]
Rear brake lines
[STRIKE]Clutch line[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Modify transmission crossmember to clear front driveshaft
Install front driveshaft[/STRIKE]
Change fuel filter and [STRIKE]install fuel lines[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Intake[/STRIKE]
Exhaust
[STRIKE]Turbo Piping[/STRIKE]
Hood struts and reinstall hood
Change oil and check fluids
Tranfercase linkages (80 % Done)
[STRIKE]Remove E-brake cable[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Trim driver side fender[/STRIKE]
Install bumpstops
Install limit straps
[STRIKE]Mount last 43" tire[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Install Spacers[/STRIKE]

I know, trust me I can't wait to get there.
Hopefully I can get some extra hands around to get the engine bled along with the brakes and clutch.
It could possibly be moving under its own power this weekend.

How is moonshine doing?

Ive been up to my neck with projects similar to this before, it does get overwhelming sometimes.

But, for me I found I was much more productive if i could put blinders on, if you look at the whole project its overwhelming and hard to make progress, but if you look at one thing you can get done and have parts for, then ignore the rest, and dont look at anything other then the one part of the project you can get done and focus only on that. The list eventually gets shorter and you see light at the end of the tunnel. Having said that, your almost there now anyways.

As they say "yard by yard life is hard, but inch by inch lifes a sinch!"

I should probably apply my own advice to my hilux project!

I expect to see videos when she's moving!!

Moonshine is doing well. I'm collecting parts and some new tools for the next round of mods, but I'm simply too busy driving her to get anything done :D

I agree, the "blinders" approach is a good way to get all the little things done that add up to the completed project once the major components are in place.
 
Yep I have those blinders on.

Right now its just getting it running and moving again. All of the other odds and ends can come later.

I knocked a few things off of the list too.

Tomorrow I hopefully will be able to wrap up the brake lines get them bled and tie in the throttle linkage.

If so then I might just take it for a spin by the shop.

Is there anything I should remember to do before driving it for the first time?

I am going to double check:

suspension bolts
fluids in the diffs
driveshaft bolts

Anything else that I am missing?
 
That exhaust tho :grinpimp:

Make sure the wheel lugs are torqued too. Kind of a no brainer. But it's never a bad idea.
 
It's a stack!! Sure, a mini stack, but a stack nonetheless.

Check everything. Motor mount bolts, transmission mount bolts, transfer mount bolts, driveshaft bolts, u-bolts, lug nuts, fluids, electrical system. Then drive her till the wheels fall off!!
 
Awesome dude! Your project gives me extra drive to get mine done every time I look at it. Keep up the good work!

I'd love to get a group of all the eastern 6bt conversions for a trail run/camping trip one day, maybe this fall. Just figured I throw that out there.

Yep a good point, I actually have to put the rest of them on the 14 bolt.

You'll be finished before you know it, and the wheeling/camping trip sounds awesome to me.
 
Brakes are 99% done. I just need to get one more fitting and everything will be all set.

I also need to drill and tap a new fill hole for the NP205 because I clocked it a bit to lessen my driveline angles.

Throttle linkage was installed today so there is no more worry about getting out of the truck to rev it up :D It should be driving tomorrow once these few things are addressed.

Here is a pic of the throttle linkage bracket I fabbed up.
