All in good time Stevo! It all looks good. This problem we have of working for a living sure gets in the way of a good cruiser project. I'm feeling your pain.

Somehow we managed to crack our transfer case housing in Oct.! Been out of commission since then and I have been working 7 days a week since november. I should have some time in march to get back on it. I'm ready to get back in the game and run over something or into something sticky!

Did you break the housing with the torque of the motor or from slamming it on something?

Ran over something that cme up and hit it. I need to fab some new skid plates when I get back to working on it.

Back from Costa Rica, and managed to get something started on the cruiser.

I made a new plate to replace the stock fuel lines and got it all mocked up for the new draw straw and return line.

I will hopefully be able to get the fuel lines run, the tank installed and the motor started up again tomorrow.

I was having some starting issues earlier which hopefully were just due to running with a clogged fuel filter. That will also be changed out tomorrow.

Those bulk head fittings are cool. Just make sure you put some loctite on them. I used one for my oil return from a turbo, and it keeps loosening up. Next time I drop the oil pan, I'm going to loctite them. I should have done it the first time, but forgot.

I already installed the tank

Hopefully they will be ok until I get my new custom tank made up, which will be once the truck has been running and driving for a few months.
If not I will end up making that new tank a lot sooner than I wanted.

Unfortunately not.
Lotta drama going on with work.

Also the last few weekends I have been helping a friend Stitch up his cracked 53 Block cummins.
He uses it for work so that puts it a bit higher on the priority list than my project. Hopefully I will get a chance this week and weekend to get some time in on it.

I definitely want to get this beast running for the summertime.

Well I was able to get over to the shop after way too much time away from my truck.

I had to clean all of my excess junk out of the shop to make room for a new plasmacam table which is on its way :D It should be pretty sweet to use in the future.

All my stuff compiled on one table:

The truck is starting to look like it really wants to go hit some trails. I want this to be driveable so bad, I wanna test its limits this summer for sure.

Depending on how sunday goes I might be able to get it moving and stopping under its own power again.

Well I went over to the shop today to try and get the brake lines all finished up. Unfortunately it seems I had lost the Banjo bolts for the rear brakes and the fittings I had bought for the master cylinder did not fit.

I made a trip over to two advance auto parts stores in order to find the banjo bolts I needed and by that time I decided to take it easy for the rest of the night.
Hopefully tomorrow I should be able to get at least the front brakes all finished up and possibly the rear as well.

Any chance it will be ready for GSMTR this year?

Sent from another Galaxy

Its still a possibility, I really just need to finish plumbing the brakes, clutch, and fuel lines before its moving under its own power.

Then I can slap an exhaust on and do all of the odds and ends like the bumpstops and whatnot.

It's looking good man. So beastly.

The more I think about it I either want a diesel or American V8 in my 60 someday and then put my current power plant in a trail rig :D

Yours will do good on the street and trails. Super cool.

Thanks a lot, the encouragement is always appreciated.
The weather is just starting to get nicer up here so I will hopefully have some more motivation to work on the truck after work.
Its almost ready to go :)

You really can't go wrong with the diesel or V8.
Either one will be a blast to drive.
V8's can usually be done for cheaper too.

I wanna see this thing smokin'

Do you have a YouTube account? I haven't been in this thread in a little while.

I'm gonna have to lean towards a V8 right now. Drivability for a DD. Parts availability. 'MERICA. Etc.

Either way I'm taking it to a drag strip :hillbilly:

That's the key. You can buy anything for a Chebby 350 or 5.3 on the CHEAP at your local parts store and it's often the same as the OEM.

Okay sweet. I'm gonna subscribe so I can catch all your vids.

I can't wait to see a rear pointed GoPro vid and rolling smoke hahaha

Yep! Gotta love it :)

Stevo, Great to see things moving along again. We are going full bore and I am not getting all my little projects done right now. Wanting to do rear swing out, roof rack, driving lights, gauges, really just all kinds of stuff this year. Big problem is I've lost all driving privileges to my son who has taken over the truck. He drives it to school every day and is a big hit with students and teachers. One teacher even told him to leave the truck nuts on it because it just looks right!

I got to drive it this weekend and just knowing that I could made me feel good. You will be the same way when you get going this summer. Keep at it.

Yeah I can't wait to get it driving even to just idle under its own power would be enough.

So it seems that I will have to give up on the brakes for a while... The front lines are finished but I lost the rear banjo bolts for my 14 disc brakes and none of the parts stores by me have the right ones in stock. I sent a pm to the guy who I bought the kit off of on pirate hopefully he can get another set sent to me soon.

I'm just hoping I didn't mess the threads up on the one caliper, if so i'll have to track down the correct tap and see if I can clean them up.

Here is the front line coming from the master.
