My normal driving mode is S/M 6 with ECT set to PWR. Lots of hills around me as well, I just shift up or down as required (or, just leave it at 6 if I'm lazy). FYI, if cruise control is set, it stays on in 4, 5 and 6 - if you shift down to 3, then it shuts off.

HTH

Thanks for explaining. I'll also set the ECT to PWR tomorrow to see if that makes a difference.

Cheers!

Two quick questions:

- Does the 2008 radio play a DVD with mp3's or does this only work with CD-ROMs ?

- Can we make this thread sticky ? It's super useful for new 200 owners (I read all pages) but sometimes (like today) it's hard to find.

Cheers!!

1st gen lx570 owners how do I get the back panel off the front seat?

My 9 year old yanked it off pretty easily climbing around like a monkey. It's just clipped in from what I can see.

I need to borrow her for a bit! I have tried several times and failed, but I'm afraid of breaking clips . . .

I'll answer my last question with this picture. Look for the two shiny vertical screws.

New question. I live far from a long gravel road. I need to change the transfer case fluid. That means I need to run for 10 or 15 min in 4 low to warm up the fluid. If I do an out and back, no sharp turns, can I do this on asphalt/concrete/tarmac dry roads?

Don't see why you couldn't do this anywhere. You're just reducing your drive speed with higher gearing. You don't need to be off-road to engage 4lo.

First I've heard of that requirement. Why won't 4 HI warm up the fluid?

I let mine drip overnight. I do the same with oil changes. :meh:

Maybe thinking of locking the center diff? Find an empty parking lot in a state park that might be gravel? County fair grounds? Empty MLB stadium?

Famously MSCruisers video has him starting with something along the lines of a warm up trip in 4lo. I just teased the FSM, it doesn't say anything about warming up the transfer case. Just starts with bolt removal . . . I'll let it drip overnight I guess.

No issues running on road in 4Lo, just don't lock the center diff.

I am Looking to replace the pasenger side Front Bumper Support Rail. Is the passenger side considered the right or left? There are two part numbers listed, one for the right and one for the left side. Images attached showing part numbers. Thanks in advance.

Passenger side is right, but I'd probably get both just to be sure I didn't have to wait a week if I needed both.

Any tips on removing the trim to help mount this ram mount? It seems like it will take quite a lot of disassembly to remove the piece. Looks like it may be better to remove the top portion.

That vertical grey piece that is adjacent comes off quite easily and might serve as a suitable substitute location?

Yeah, thats an option, I have taken that pieve off before and you are right, its not too bad. Was just hoping to hide the ball a little more.

Ok. I posted this question in the LX pic forum but though this might be a better place. I just installed 17” wheels with 285/75/17s. While I have no rubbing on full lock as far as I can tell at this point, what I do have is occasional rubbing while driving at speed on the highway and hitting a dip that causes deep compression. The rubbing is on the outer edge of the tire against a protruding edge of the liner just inside the wheel well. I am trying to figure out how to handle this. Any suggestions would be much appreciated:
