Looking for a split transfer case for my 85(4 speed manual with extension) FJ60. I'm in Eastern WA. Spokane.

Not completely sure what happened. Had really bad noise on the freeway and it was smoking. After dropping it there was no oil and the teeth were chewed but not destroyed. No obvious culprits so probably just it's time to go. Just hit 309K.

Is the aluminum housing OK? You're right on the split, can you measure and see if you have a 34mm or 38mm idler shaft. That will determine a great deal about parts.

We have new take-out gear sets, full rebuild kits or good used cases (rebuild/reseal recommended). Knowing what you're working with would really help identify options.

I had recently filled it replaced the trans fluid. quite possibly was overfull

The housing seems fine. great I'll measure it tomorrow.

Looks like mine is a 34mm. measured at 33.9 with a HF caliper.
