So,
I'm on in Old Downtown Charleston South Carolina looking for a parking spot, and the sweetest Matte Black FJZ80 passes me... it had Tundra conversion on it. I thought it was a Sequioa ... but then I noted the odd body work, and the Landcruiser lift / tailgate rear...

i did a few searches, and couldn't find anything, I would really like to know more about this Rig if anyone has info.

Thanks

Thats simply baaad ass! I love the conversion, its different and very transformer like!
Rock on!

So Sick!

If for some reason the link doesnt work for you, go to the top of the 80's tech page, click on the sticky "80 Series Registry" and go to page 32. It currently has 37 pages.

Just tried that myself..it looks like the forum's glitching right now and redirecting back to page 15. Log out, clear your cache and reopen your browser and use this link instead..

*It's associated with your page view settings like if you have a page/post view higher than say 25 posts it'll happen. (Mac+Safari as well as PC+Windows.)

[EDIT]Someone let the mods know b/c even my identifier code with the actual post # fails?

Yep, Alan Podvin is the mad scientist behind this truck…
He makes a lot of these crazy custom URL="http://cruiserconversions.com/tourtrucks/"]LandCruisers[/URL] that are always getting spotted at National Forest sites. … And you all know the other LCs and 4runner seen a few of them before on Ebay.

This is what I could find out about it. ......

The truck Started as a normal FJZ80 "longnose" solid axle rig...
TOYOTA_Land-Cruiser-FJ80-1989_main.jpg

and then the body got a Style upgrade with Tundra BAJA fiberglass.

All the great styling of a 2010 Toyota Tundra Baja Flared race truck blended with a almost new straight axle off road 8 passenger 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser.
Perfect for all you adventures!!

HOW/ WHY IT WAS BUILT
We started with a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with 69,000 original miles chosen for low miles and factory straight axles. We then purchased all new body parts for the 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra as well as many steel parts that were custom fabricated as new. The result is a Tundra with a 112" wheelbase, the blend of great looks, towing, off road ability, passenger carrying, and reliability. Unlike the Tundra you have passenger carrying ability and secure storage for your gear. Unlike the Sequoia it has a shorter wheelbase better for parking and offroading. Better than most other vehicles is the Tundra Cruisers approach and departure angles, and massive straight axles better for articulation off road, the price and the reliability especially the worldwide parts support of the 4.5 Toyota motor, as well as this is a worldwide Toyota platform supported in all markets so you can export anywhere. On long range expeditions the electronics are simple enough for user service.

That. Is. SO. Cool.

For driving around town I guess its ok, but I feel 80 is wide enough, at least for wheeling tight trails, but now its even wider and if anything happens to it, even more expensive to fix! To each his own!
