Everything started life as a 4'x10' sheet of 20 ga.
The 90* is a seam. welded both sides and then ground down.

AHhhhh now i see it.

damn good job quite hard to tell.

Worked all day on cutting off the old spring hangers and welding on the new with reversion.
Removed steering box and realized there were no stiffners in the new frame so i had to cut them out of the old frame and install in the new, ya right.
I didn't want to cut open the frame so i opted to cut the reinforcement deal into four pieces and drive each piece down the frame rails, only took 3 hrs.
See if i can get the motor and trany mounts welded in tomorrow, then i'm good to go.

Rear crossmember and motor mounts are welded in, rolled front suspension under to see how the spring hangers looked. Yanked the rear diff to stuff in some 4.88:1s to see if there enough gear.
Now i can finally pull it all down and blast it.

wow this is such a awesome build, love the tubbed out wheel weels and flares,

Rear axle is now under springs and turned. Perches are just resting on top of the front diff to see if 20* is enough for the cut and turn.
I also turned the front springs end for end so the full wrap is at the stationary end, is this normally done?

I have almost the same setup up front on mine. And yes, you should put full wrap at the fixed end.

Great work!

That's going to look great, but i don't think I could ever do that to my 60. Of course you did say you had a lot of rust. I can understand the need to chop.

Nice work.

Not a great deal of progress on the 60 lately, my daughter turned 16 so shes learning to drive.
She's stoked about driving our lifted 80 series and wants to drive past all her friends houses.
Anyways i've been glass beading parts and giving them to a friend for powder coating.
Got this batch back tonight.
Also picked up some new rubber.

I was going to powder it but changed my mind, i will still sandblast but i picked up a gallon of "Chassis Saver" paint.
I may powder the axles and steering parts, all the aluminum and tins on the engine.

what size are the iroks?

Finally managed to get the frame blasted today and painted the top, will flip it over and paint the bottom tomorrow.
Got this Turbo from a friend cleaned it up and put a kit into it, if it don't work on the 60 i could always try it on the 80
