Hello Everyone, long time

Does anyone have an OEM Window Ring set I could use to produce a pair?

I must be getting old. Second time in the last couple of weeks have no clue what the part is. First it was someone looking for the plug for the side window defrost duct. Know what those are but someone say the spare tire plug worked That I have no idea what it is. Same with a window ring.

I feel your pain John, only I find myself purposely trying to forget these unobtainable parts truly exist.

What Splangy said. I've reached out to Ken aka eltioloco again, I guess we'll see............

A couple of years ago Genesis4X4 contacted me about borrowing my old, torn, rotting top to use as a pattern for a new one. I was hoping that this would culminate into a top for my Toyota. This did not happen. I am out the couple of hundred bucks for the shipping of the top and the money I spent on having the widow rings duplicated.
Anyway, long story short, I had the rings made by Irrational Metal Works in Combine Texas. They cost $240.00 for the two sets (4 rings for two windows). If some one has a line on somebody who could make a top off of using my old top as a pattern, that would be great.
Ken

I had forgotten about the top was just thinking doors. I've all but given up on the canvas. Was ready to take this two years So... when a post in another thread "PM sent" from a member in OR changed that. Two years later my free time as all but disappeared.:bang: Too bad as I was really looking forward to tackling this project.:meh:

Like I said I'd forgotten about these rings. The link I attached is almost two years old. I was hoping to tackle the project at that time including the rings.

I'll make a top if I have a pattern to go by. My people are fixing to hit the winter months and things are fixing to slow down for them. Would be a perfect time for them to do this project. But I have to have a top to do it.

ocd made two tops, on for me and one for a friend before selling this stuff off. i'm still dealing with bows and the pieces above and behind the door, but, using my mock bows, all appears good. not 100% because i opted to not have the turnbuckle sides and rear door, also, he did the sides like the later 40s with the center section rolling up, not the full removeablepanel. i plan on getting that changed, but just haven't dealt with it yet. marshall, i can ship it to you to get measurements and stuff. it's not going anywhere with winter starting ;)

I'll take whatever you guys want to send me. An original would be best but at least I'll have something to work off of. You think Jim made it correctly?

Also note I'm fixing to get out of the soft top business. Instead of being the middle man between me and the company I'm having make the tops I'm going to have everyone go straight to them. This should speed up delivery and help with communication. I'll still help them design new products and supply them with vehicles for mockup. If we get this top I'll follow it through to the finished product.

Jim made one original top for Jim C. (Cruiser_Nerd) then he made a couple to fit the factory bows but not original. Believe Jim said the fit was good but quality of the materials could have been better. But he was also comparing it to the top Badger made. Two things I would add to this. But sure you have a correct set of bows & tub to fit it on. Also plan on including enough extra material to rredskin (damn phone can't type what I want) enough material to recover the doors. A lot more to redoing the doors on the early top.

no original bows near me to compare, but i'm going off of dimensions from cruisernerd and the top looks like it will fit good. it's loose now, but it hasn't been exposed to weather which will make it shrink some.

here you can see where annies sides roll up vs oe where the panel comes out.

if you want to borrow my top, pm me your addy and i'll ups it to you.
