Kellymo.... please post some more photo's of your 130.... man I love those things... wish they sold them here in the States... we never seem to get the really cool stuff.

Here is a shot taken near the Saline Valley in Death Valley. The thing on the side of the shell folds down and makes a cooking/work table and above that is a 6x8' awning. It has a 3.5 litre V8 which I will be exchanging for a slightly larger 3.9 in the near future. It has a Edelbrock intake manifold and Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. Oh, it is also right hand drive.

Located in Southern California. Most of the guys I wheel with own FJ40's FJ25's . I have had the Land Rover disease for years now. I currently have the 130 and a 1994 Land Rover Discovery. My only project is the 130 which is a constant work in progress. I recently made some sliders for it, I am rebuilding a engine in the next few months and in the near future or when I get the $$$ I will be installing front and rear ARB's. I love the platform of the 130, it's a great expedition rig and actualy a pretty capable rock crawler even with open diffs.

Ive got the Rover and Cruiser disease as well. Ive come close several times buying an 1995 Disco with 5speed. Im continually told they are hard to find but every disco Ive considered buying over the past 5 years is a manual 5speed.
Now I had a deal with a guy on an 1975 Series III 109 Safari wagon with a diesel. 3500USD that included shipping to Washington State. My wife was happy with the deal until I told her how much rust repair I was going to do. Mainly just around the bulkhead. But I already had a bulkhead that I was going to buy from a fellow in Texas that had zero cancer. Oh well... had to call the guy and tell him I had to pass up on the deal otherwise me and the dog would be fitting over who gets to sleep where. I really wanted the 109.... had a full safari rack... all four doors had the folddown steps... and doors where half doors so when you take the top off the door tops came off as well. Wish I could still get it.
 
I had a 109 that I sold few years ago. I used the money to help buy the 130. 109's are great looking trucks. This is the one I sold. Sold it to a guy on the east coast. It had a Chevy 250 in it. Ran great.

MiniPigg and I are going to put a rig together that matches his drawings with a few changes.

We are going to use a 93 Dodge 3/4 ton with a Cummins Turbo Diesel as the base for the rig. The 93 already is 130" from hub to hub, and now that we picked up a 55 that had been rolled a few weeks back we now have the main peices. And for the bed I think we decided on a flatbed.

Should make an awesome rig and fun to wheel.
 
James... Want to pass this by and see what you think.
Lets take the front clip off first.... while it is still on the trailer. Then start taking things off... like the doors and tailgate. We might want to take the dash off and break it down so we can see better. Then its just the pig tub. I:grinpimp: f we do need to cut the firewall we can at least see what we are doing. What ya think?

If your dash is good why cut it, just go for a seat lift or take the dash out and put some padding or something there. just a thought, i know how rare good parts can be ;)

BTW very cool idea for a project, and i like the sound of the tray too, although a tub is still just as cool.
I look forward to seeing some progress. :cool:

Not going to cut the dash pad or dash.... but we might need to cut the bulkhead to make room for the cummins. Its already 130" wheelbase.... and James is going to use the dodge frame.
 
Where did you find that at Ben?

Real nice flatbed, Is that truck or flatbed forsale?
