It's bolted into the truck in multiple places, I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue...

I've driven through several car washes, I just try to always use the "touchless" ones. Never had an issue.

My only complaint with the knock off is the hardware is crap. But meh.

I'm finally going to pull the trigger on one. I've been putting off doing any "fun" mods until I get my neglected maintenance done but with a knuckle rebuild happening this weekend I think I deserve something "fun" to look forward to. :grinpimp:

Bump with the new price... I'm still on the fence. I'd almost rather make one just for the fun/challenge, but this is pretty cheap!

That's the snorkel I have on my 80. Overall quality was very good for the price. No issues with the hardware, except for the windshield bracket which isn't great. The template is pretty useless so do your own measurements, but I've been really happy with it and geez how do you argue with that price?

I just tried to take mine off and failed, through driving through some medium sized trees and brush this weekend.

We have had to repair several of these repeatedly as they don't seen to hold up well against brush and tree limbs. You can only upsize the fasteners so many times due to the small size of the A pillar. Need to run a roof rack with limb risers!

Has anybody ever actually gotten to the back two bolts without taking off the fender ?
Yes, I did on mine. I won't say it was easy or pretty, but I got them. IIRC, I removed the cruise and other bits on the back of the inner fender and somehow got an arm wedged in that way...

Does anyone know how big the inlet is on these chicom snorkels? I'm going to order a pre filter to separate the dust some before it gets to the actual filter.

I was able to get all the fasteners on with some help from from my wife and her tiny arms!
One of the threaded inserts in the snorkel was a different size than the hardware that came for it so had to find a bolt to match...
Snorkel's been on for almost a year and only complaint is rusting hardware. I've abused it pretty good going through lots of thick brush.

I finally got a chance to truly justify putting my snorkel on. I hit a water hole that was deeper than I thought and got water about headlight deep and the wave over the hood. Now when I'm asked if I really need that thing I can reply "yep".

Another question. Well an addition to my first so I'll combine them. What is the the intake cfm so I can get the correct pre filter and what is the correct measurement for these snorkels. Is it 3.5"?

I've heard snorkels are easier to install with the fender off, is that true? It's been awhile and I've not heard many people doing it that way but I still may remove my fenders for another install.

I left the fender attached. Wasn't too bad. I liked having the fender attached for final fitment, so the pillar mount went in the right place. Pretty good access to most of the nuts, through the corner marker hole.
