Well, I think I figured out why my 88 OJ50LV doesn’t move under its own power anymore, but I am shocked. Does this mean I need to pull the TC and Tranny, or just TC?

I would say both to ascertain all potential damage. But dude, what's an 88 OJ50LV?

can't say I've seen that before.

being as there is no sign of gear oil leaking out on the ebrake, my WAG is there is non left in the transfer,

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

Based on @3_puppies observation, I wouldn’t order anything until I had the whole tcase torn down. If it was a low oil induced break, you may not actually have a rebuildable case.

Also, the flat rear PTO cover is a red flag that you may not have a 1” idler, and could have some exotic, non-replaceable parts in that case.

Bummer, isn't this 1 of 2 your were bringing in town? Hate to see this!!

I guess I should mention (since no one else is likely to) that I sell rebuild kits too, and have been servicing Landcruiser transfer cases for four decades.

Bummer, but good to consider.

looking at the ebrake backing plate, it looks like the hole is oblong, so if the housing seal area is damaged, you may need that also.
X2 on tearing it all down and seeing exactly what you are dealing with.
oil has definetly been leaking from somewhere, seeing all the red good on the idler shaft, but there was no oil at the break area, that is a problem.
what transmision is in front of the transfer?
