Slee Slider Step

Has any body used the Slee Slider Step, if so how do you like them? Are there any other sliders with a small step, Im slowly changing the wife's 80 into an off road machine.

Love mine. Originally got them to be family friendly, but I prefer them to regular tube sliders. You can see how they look by clicking on the ROTW link in my signature line.

As you asked about the Slee Sliders, I like the design. Very elegant and the texture makes them non slip for the Mrs.

Plus they take a beating on the trail

And they look cool and have held up well for 3 years so far.

I checked out Jims sliders, I like the flat metal step on Slee's. Metal Tech's CAT Guard looks good, Ill have to add something symular to Slee's. Yesterday I put on Slee's 2.5 Heavy Load lift and tomarrow will be the Terra Graplers. So Ill have to wait until the funds ketch up befor I add the sliders.

We run them on our rig and dig them. They work great for what we use the rig for and are perfect for loading up our top rack with a place to stand..

Has anyone put Slee Slider Steps on an 80 which came without a factory running board and kept the front mud flaps? I just wanted to see how it fits. I found one rig with the sliders installed and the mud flaps intact but that rig originally had factory running boards and it leaves a big cutout in the flap. I'm assumming it would look similar but maybe with a much smaller cutout tight around the slider.

If you've done one a photo would be appreciated.

I'm narrowing my choice between the Slee sliders and Metal Tech. I like the Metal Tech, because they are local, appear to be a lighter design and have a really nice cat protection, but I can see how the slee step sliders would come in handy for the wife and accessing the roof rack.

My only concern about the step sliders is that they seem to hang down kind of low and I don't really like how the gap looks between the front and rear fender caps. Otherwise, they look just like the running boards, but with actual protection.

Still deciding, but at the moment, leaning towards MT.

Yep, we did. Look at the second pic i posted. I just cut the flare around the slider with a sharp blade.

Thanks, guess I have to use my imagination a bit from that angle.

Did the slider encroach on the flap very much? Again, hard to tell without seeing it from behind the front mud flap.

On a similar note, I guess no one has come up with anything to finish off the front of the rear flare have they? It just seems to stop a bit prematurely. I think I've already researched this question and came up empty.

The rear fender cap can be left on and it leaves a factory flush appearance. I saved my mud flap but did not put it back on; was hoping to pic up some of the caps christo used to make, but they are not available and i hear they cracked easily anyways. I love mine for all the above reasons, the step actually keeps you a little further off obstacles than say the georges design, or any w/out the tube, kickout style or not. I would prefer greater cat protection but at the time, they were the only step style and the tradeoff was worth it. I plan on adding some sort of cat guard and figured that would be easier. My only complaint w/ the slee step sliders is the outriggers. Many times now i have gotten hung up on the c chanell outrigger requiring more throttle than comfy to get over or off an obstacle. 3500 rpm in reverse backing off a ledge on a climb isnt on my fun list. plus they make washing the roof possible

the front leaves a little to be desired, may be todays rainy day project!

I have them on both of my 80's and like them. They are very functional on a daily driver and on the trail.

I have had the Slee Slider Steps on my 100 series for 2 1/2 years. They are very similar to the 80 design. They look good, the wife and kids love them and are very durable. You can't go wrong with anything from Slee.

I use my MT sliders to access the roof rack all the time...they stick out plenty...

I'm considering swapping my Slee (regular) sliders for some of the Step Sliders. A buddy of mine has them. They're great! They also make it easier for the to get in and out.

P.S. I also think sliders that are horizontal as opposed to angled up provide better protection. Although you are more likely to hit stuff with them, but hey, that's what you bought/built 'em for, RIGHT!?!

I don't have a set, but really like them. I have seen jfz80's first hand. I agree about the outriggers should be turned upward to keep from hanging up on rocks (last time i said that Romer hammered me ) but other than that they are great.

I have george's design without outter tubbing and it makes getting in and out of the truck more of a jump. If i had the money i would buy slee's step sliders in a heartbeat.
