Great looking bumpers! Are you running the Slee rear without the tire carrier?

Out of curiosity, did you powdercoat on top of the existing powdercoat....or beadblast it prior to the new coat? If you don't mind, could you give a round figure on expected costs?

Best,
Max

I would assume he had the rear bumper painted to match at the same time and just hasn't gotten around to putting the tire swing back on.

Nice work sproket I myself am a fan of color matched bumpers... Although mine was rattle canned.

It does not look like a Slee rear. The shape is not quite the same and the spindle looks taller.

I've got a custom IPOR rear bumper that i have not put all the parts on yet. I should be done with that this weekend.

The FAB Shop sent it all to a place at "bakes the paint off" then he sandblasted it, finished sanded it, and put on two coats of powder. And he also welded on the extra front tabs.

Cost was $360.....for BOTH the front and rear bumpers.

That's correct. It's a IPOR rear with Dual swing outs. I had the Fab guy make some changes to it after he took the paint off.

- Added a security loop to tire holder for tire and HiLift
- Added strap hold downs to secure the water/gas cans
- Changed the tire holder to put it closer to the rear tail gate

That looks really, really nice.

Check our her back side!

Since you guys like the front end i thought i would put up pics of the rear. I've got more detailed pics if you guys want to see any. Thanks for all the great feedback.

I'd be interested in that paintcode...

Put to the test today

Here it is doing some rock crawling pretty close to home. About 75 feet from home to be honest.

Now all you need to do is get the same treatment for your sliders...

Very nice Slee Bumper, I like the looks and approach to your vehicle.

I have done something similar, however I did not know that you couls powercoat with color match so I just color match the bumper;next time when I get my rear bumper I will have them powercoat color match at the same time.

Oh! and I have the same Medium Suspension and Yoko Geolanders AT + II tires.

Thanks again for all the great remarks. It was a long project to get all put together and it's not done yet.

-Wife didn't seem to care too mutch, just gave me the stupid husband look. Then asked me why i'm not taking more pictures of her or the kids and told me all i care about is that stupid lexus for the last few months.

-Erorom, that looks great and yours is one of the trucks i had seen that gave me the idea to do it.

- Please note that this is NOT A PERFECT match. It was as close as we could get in the amount of time we wanted to spend. I'll provide the code for the powder but don't be upset if you do it and don't like it. The finish is not as glossy as the flares and it's just a shade or so off. It would look closer if they had done the clear coat powder on top. But it's also not the exact same color. These are pre-made powders that you pick from samples, rather than having it mixed. There are over 6000 different colors so it's pretty easy to find something close. But perfect is a little hard to do.

I'm also not sure this is as tough of a powder coat as the bumpers came with. I did chip the paint on the edges in a couple places when doing the install. Be sure to talk to your powder coating vender about durability of different powders. They have different ratings for them and some are even inside use only.

It will also be a pain to touch up anything and for extreme duty rock bashing I would just stick to the super tough black that can be touched up real easy.

HERE IS THE CODE:

Company: Tiger Drylac
Paint: Argento 308 Metalic

Good luck

Just a FYI, if you recoat a bumper with a powder that has metallic flakes in it, it is best to put a powder clearcoat over it. Maybe that is what you are seeing with the chipping.

That could be the case with some. Per the manufacture this one is fine without a clearcoat. But you never know and only time will tell for sure as most paint jobs look great when new.

Thanks for the great bumper and shipping it out the day i placed the order. The fit and finish on the Short Bus was perfect.
