What are you planning to use this Cruiser for? I’m not sure how I missed this thread, but I’m always intrigued by someone who wants to extend their Cruiser.

That’s two votes for linksAll covered in the first post.
Offroading, rock crawling.
I more or less want to make the FJ Cruiser the Toyota should have given us.
I may compromise and keep it SOA, though I am very seriously considering linking it.
If your stretching the frame I would wait until you get your tub before you cut. It looks like to me that between the crossmember and spring hangers is about where I would cut. If you are stretching the tub, I would do a LS to 4l60e or 6l80e to whatever tcase you want.RIght now, I am looking for some pictures of how/where people extended the frame. I was thinking about cutting the frame about 6" in front of the Spring Hangers there (where the tubular crossmember currently is, I know that needs to go if I do an H55F), but I want to see how the taper of the frame is handled with doing a stretch.
Kind of thinking that I'd cut the frame, patch in a couple pieces of box section and then brace/cross the frame with cross members in those spots.
