I avoid car repairs ... just not the desire. I have changed 20-30 engines in the 90s and tons of automotive work. Got sick of it. Sheet metal though...that is a little different. Takes more of a artist and craftsman to do that kind of work.

Got tired of looking at the electrical spider on top of my battery. So a clean up was in order. Nothing exciting,just necessary.

Well it's been over a year and 9000 miles and it looks almost as bad as it did before I painted it. I think on a show car or truck that doesn't get driven much it would hold up much longer. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained

Cheers, thanks for replying. I had read multiple posts citing that stuff as the greatest paint for heated parts ever invented. I bought a can and have applied it in a couple of places but haven't bee that thrilled with it. Great thread, really nice truck, great skills you’ve got as well. Your engine rebuild is really making me reconsider the LS swap (not really but man is that awesome). A new 2F is so purdy.
Questions regarding your electrical clean up.
Did you tie all of your positive leads to that red clamp thingy and then go from there with one single power lead to the positive battery terminal? I have a big mess of wires I need to tidy up and what you’ve done here is really nice.
What is that device that the single red cable is coming out of, the one with the little blue thing near it.
Where did you get the little quick release wheel for the battery terminal. I live in Oakland right on the edge of the hood and I disconnect my negative lead regularly as part of my anti theft shut down process. I don’t daily my rig (until I get a V8). Sucks as I have to re-program my radio all the time.

I never saw this question, so I am sorry I didn't reply. Yes I tied all positives to the red lug and ran one cable to the battery. The device with the blue button is a resettable circuit breaker for my winch.

Yes I do. I got the box on Amazon also. Type in, fused power distribution block. I live in a very rural area, so shopping is limited, hence the Amazon purchases.

Well it's been two years since I have posted to this thread, so I guess it's time to get busy. I've been driving my cruiser for close to six years now and I think it's time for a major upgrade. Can anyone guess what's in the box?

That looks like a 5 speed? but my box looked like it already had 100,000 on in when they unloaded it.

I got it from my local Toyota dealer. With the shifter and Ca. tax,
,$3051. I simply asked what's the best he could do and we had a deal.
