I'm pretty sure I saw him heading East on 36 this afternoon, about 10 mins out of Hannibal, MO. I was heading back home from town in my FJ62 in the other lanes westbound. I waved and layed on the horn, but he must have been in the zone.
We're loading not far from there, but I'm pretty well done. I'm going to shoot prairie dogs tomorrow, load the goose, swap out a flat tire on it, and relax.
Wheels up probably Thursday morning.
Chris and I will have put ~740 miles on our rigs this trip by the time we get back to Moffat. My belly is full.
The loop north of Creede is worth the detour btw.

Home at 3:00am on Sunday. Picked up a few along the way south of Lubbock (@bottombracket and Sean Hanko) and we all three drove into the midnight hours. Left for Houston Sunday afternoon and just got back. Enjoying a beer in the sweat box of a barn and not looking forward to cleaning this truck and trailer. Would rather do a 180 and head back to the San Juan’s 
. It amazes me how each year at SAS it can top the last year. Awesome time and thank you to all those that support the event and keep us all organized during the week. (Chanette, Tim, Casey, Gabe & Catherine, Bill, Sam, Maureen and the many others I’m overlooking as I sip this cold Modelo). And I got to spend some time with the legends (Hansen and McVickers) this week. Hard to beat that and appreciate them letting me tag along. And camping west of the Rio Grand reservoir the Saturday before the event with many good folks and doing Stoney in on Sunday. Hard to top that trip. Wagyu burgers on the tailgate. Epic. Thanks Hightower. And yes, Bill joined us for like 110 miles on the trails Friday of last week. Said we did not wear him out but I caught him studying the backside of his eyelids while we ate lunch at Kite Lake. Only Bill could slow things down like this on such an adrenaline rush of a day .

Yep @CenTXFJ60 it was a very awesome day for sure. Being with you guys on such an epic Run will be in my memory bank forever. Maureen had a tremendous time too.
I had the pleasure of wheeling with John Mcvicker and is friends from the eastern sierras in Moab after SAS. We ran fins and things and hells revenge.

After having a few days to put gear away and reset, it has been a very long time since I have enjoyed an event as much as this one. The "feel" is visceral. I don't know how else to define it
I know John does not want me to post this, but I hope when I’m 82 years old I’m out there tipping over land cruiser and having fun. Absolute legend.

Nah, just me…thank goodness. And here’s a picture 30 minutes after the flop of the real heroes of this flop. No broken glass, no broken mirrors & no dents. Scratches that will buff out…well that is if I ever buy any wax.

I’ve said the same thing myself... I wanna be like John when I’m his age.
There definitely needs to be a Dos Equis commercial for John Mcvicker.
