I am also offering to lead an overnight Thursday/Friday trip starting on Stony Pass, Kite Lake, Heart Lake (time permitting), Carson City and back to Ouray via Engineer Pass. Please let me know if you are interested and bring a tent, food, stove, etc.

Apparently the trail link isn’t working. Here is a picture of the route. It is approximately 160 miles round trip with most of it being off road.

Just got done throwing these bad boys on and the panhard bracket.

Is anyone hitting any harder trails this year? I’ve done yankee boy, engineer pass. Got OKish 35s, 3.5” lift and triple locked.

Not experienced enough to lead any trails but can keep up. Usually just tag along to see what other trail leaders are doing.

LMK!

The wall is about as hard is you will find. 😎

I assume you take 70 the whole way?
We’re planning on leaving Indy Friday morning, not particularly early, and at least start out on a basically 36 route across. Gives us the option to go slow or jump on 70 if the cruiser will handle it. I usually make it to Colorado Springs or Mitchell SD on day one in the Tundra. This is a little different.

Never been out there on anything but interstate but have motorcycle buddies that think 36 is the only way to go.
We'll probably roll out on Friday as well, but later in the day - were only a few miles north of 36 in MO, take it across all of MO and usually hop on 70 at KC. If you need anything along the way we'll not be far.

I have had problems opening onX links that are from desktop. But I don't use the desktop much, probably need to...
I'd probably be in on this overnight unless something drastically changes by the end of the week. That seems like a long time away, many decisions away, but the time will fly I'm sure.

FYI, those lugs look very similar to my 2021 Toyota 4Runner lug nuts. Do you happen to have any dimensions and the thread pitch that you need?
There 12mm x 1.5 😉

I will be leading Poughkeepsie on Monday but we are already full.

I will lead a group over Black Bear on Tuesday morning, early. I have plenty of room for this run.

I am also running the Holy Cross trail a week after on 8/14 if you are still in CO. DM me if you are interested as this isn’t part of SAS.
Most likely run black bear with you.

Put me down for Black Bear on Tuesday

I kind of fear something coming from a 4 skinner to hold my wheels on a Land Cruiser!
Thanks a bunch for your offer though.

Good question if they are the same or not?

Anyone passing through Denver on your way home that would be willing to bring a roof rack (in 2 boxes) with them? Willing to pay $100 and meet you along the interstate.

I’m purchasing it from a gentlemen attending the SAS and he’s bringing it with him. Unfortunately I can’t attend the event, so hoping a good fella can bring it with them to Denver. I purchased a 70 series back in September, and getting it ready for the trails.

Depending on the box size, maybe. We’ll be packed to the gills in our 60.

New motor runs by the way, fired it up tonight. I got some break in and shake down miles ahead of me, but we’re game on for SAS.

I'm pretty sure they are. Any toyota dealer should have them on the shelf.

@Mike Shull

I’d like a spot on your Black Bear run.
I’ve got you down.
Is this trailer friendly?

Perhaps though it might be too long for one of the creek crossings and for the section of road outside of Pearl Lakes on the way towards Carson. It is a lot of road to travel and it depends on how much terrain you want to subject it to. Others who are familiar with the area might have different thoughts.

I bet I'll have room, either in the cabin or on my roof rack. Do you have an idea how large the boxes are so I can plan to make room for them? I'll be heading back to Omaha and plan to go back through Denver.

@HZJ73 @Greyota I would at least have a place to temporarily store the boxes in Denver if that’s a need. Maybe if when Greyota is coming through town you guys aren’t able to meet up - he could always drop them with me. Maybe we could each take a box too. It all depends on how big they are for me.
