Found this film photo I snapped of the engine right after I finished putting everything back together. Just thought I would share as I really want to remember that sense of accomplishment when It fired off for the first time after taking everything apart and all the work getting it back together.

Just curious how long did it take for your top to get to you? Its only been a week but I am curious if it took yours 4weeks like everyone else.

They messed up my order, but once we straightened that out it was a couple weeks.

So I'm not a great example

Gotcha Well I ordered mine on the 19th of April. So maybe on Monday Ill ask about a time line or ship date or somthing to see.

Good idea.

Their ordering system has some issues, especially with all the eBay ads they run. I wouldn't do it that way, but it's not like they are doing anything unethical.

If I make these I will buy a oem set to take apart and make into quick release. IF anyone has any info on this please share it. It looks pretty easy to make with a cuttingwheel and welder.

Random Updates: I got stressed thinking about the soft top. I ended up emailing Troa and messaging them on Ebay just to get some sort of timeline. Nothing to report on yet.

My alternator from city racer will be in today. Hopefully I can either install that today or tomorrow. Just want to make the fj40 as reliable as I can.

I caved and bought a 1f temp sending unit pipe from a vendor on the 26th and just like my past experiences its not been shipped after almost a week. I have not had great experiences other than a lengthy phone call about grommets. I should have not caved but it was just one of those F#**K it moments.= I just had no luck finding the part. I ended up for the time being temporarily fixing by welding up a 2f "threaded sending unit pipe" (cant remember what the part is called) and extending it to make the 1f sender work. My temp gage does work now and this is just a temporary fix it does not look good and will bug me if i don't do it right. Its getting hot here now and I wanted to make it work and so I can see whats going on.

I also am on the search for a 2f fan shroud. I never did find one that did not cost an arm and a leg. I may have to make somthing. I have the old shroud that was for the sbc that I think I can make work for the time being. its not overheating but I am paranoid I am going to loose a finger if I am not carful.

I bought the non oem battery hold down kit from Cruiser corps and it seems to be doing fine for now. I do plan on going oem later on I promise. Just wanted somthing better than bunji cords haha.

quick release hinges and FST doors are somthing I am figuring out.

I think thats all up to date but I might be missing somthing.

They’ve only ever been out of the box to take pictures

Let me know over the next week or so—- now that I’ve climbed through the attic to find them, if you don’t want them I’ll list them up in the classifieds…
