Rough saw lumber and what you built out of it (1 Viewer)

This beauty broke in half up too last summer almost destroying my big tractor. This year you could tell it wasn’t going to do well so we had dozer remove it with our intent to build some things out of it.

We hope to build a mantle, small table or nightstands and whatever else we can do. The wife did see the base of another tree used as pedestal for table and that may be another option.

Just stumbled on this thread and it made me smile as I too enjoy working with real lumber. I’m impressed by the projects posted here, and thought I’d share my latest using rough sawn cedar:

I hope you save that beautiful old saloon! Looks like it will need new sills and a little structural work, but definitely worth saving! If you ever need input or someone to bounce ideas off, feel free to reach out. I regularly deal with historic mining camp architecture both as a carpenter and architectural historian.

Busy morning milling some 1”x12”’s for siding.

Picked up a Lucas M613 that was missing some parts and needed some maintenance.

Converted it to a swing blade dimensional saw mill.

The biggest cant it will mill is a 6”x6”.

Felled some trees to make room for the sceptic tank. Milled the trees up on the Woodmizer LT 15 to build the solar panel system for the cabin in Alaska.

Installed some 6” I-Beams so it easier to roll the logs to the hydraulic loader arms on my Woodmizer LT40.

Had a few minutes so I milled a redwood log into lumber.
1”x12” for siding.
11/16” x 6 “ that will be milled to 1/2” tongue and groove for interior walls.

Processes the jacket boards into stickers.
