Any possibility there might be a custom toyota housing on the drawing board..........

Nodd nodd wink wink......

Uhh, RATINGS???

Split hood ala street rod? Center hinge? That would be trick.

Well maybe I guess. IMO the 'great' builders (Trepanier, Foose,Butler, Pauza and other metal workers) probably could care less since their work speaks for itself. For example this years Riddler winner (best street rod) took 22,000 man hours to build @ a cost of 100.00 / hour.. so 2,200,000.00... I dont think they would care about TV shows..but who knows:rolleyes:.
As far as the hood...I have an idea or two...need to see how much engine bay room I have after the intake I have planned is done:D.

Its almost there.... I have a new idea or two also for forming it. The problem is the end balls...they are all still junkyard at this point for everyone. I am looking at possibly getting some done offshore...but hesitant on how many NEW housings we would sell and if it would be worth the investment.

looking sharp as usual.

Hey, did you mention something about D60 outer seals? I didn't see any. Perhaps another pic. :)

Thanks for all the props guys.. I work with my Pops everyday...if we had drama like that we would both be dead probably. Those shows are made for TV bull****..no eye protection, no welding gloves, cutters flying out of machines, projectiles shot from air tools... sometimes I wonder what these show producers are thinking.

Lar

ditto. i stopped watching those shows about two years ago. too much drama, too much scripted bull****. boyd who?! whatever .................

the work should speak for itself. plain and simple.

thae only "build" show i still watch from time to time is "rides". people like chip foose, troy trepanier and so on..... now those guys are craftsmen and artists.

You are all right, unfortunately...
And the producers said:"hey! Lets make a realityshow about carbuilders or motorcycles, just lets not show the cars or motorcycles, lets show what everybody else does in realityshow" Thanx alot!!

Seen a set of those seals on Kyles desk the other day, had a Mad sticker in the bag so I would venture to guess he does make those sweet ass seals......

And if you go on his web site you will see them for sale.

Do you make the Dana 60 outer seals for yourself or do you sell them?

I think they're made by Seals-IT

They are made under contract for us, as their is a patent on the molding process. Our name is roll stamped on the body of the 60 seal.

I have not been able to do much on the rig lately. We are in the middle of building a 4K sq. ft. addition on the shop which will have 16foot ceilings, floor heat and 600 amp service. We have been super packed (and maxed on electric) so hopefully this should help us. I also completely cleared the rear of the lot for storage (trailers, vehicles) and am going to be fencing that all in.
