Nice pile of parts. Sure would be a shame if I wander over there and haggle with Zac a little.

A common phrase in the shop is "Zac these are not for sale" lol

Well so far today I got the engine engine painted up. Hopefully 1200° paint will keep that Mopar blue paint away.

I am one to take omens seriously in life. So I have been debating whether or not to take the transfer apart. I had to take my 60 to a transmission shop some time back. I was leaving town for a while and needed it done. Normally I would just do these things myself. Well I had a couple signs tell me to take it apart since I started this project. Glad I listened. I don't blame the transmission shop. Even a lot of Toyota Techs don't know about the H55. They don't know about the 5th gear oil cup or the insert needed so all your transmission oil doesn't flow into the transfercase. So no surprise they didn't install the 5th gear oil cup or the plug. Found the oil at a dealership for $4. Now just gotta find a 11mm plug.View attachment 2584451

Man it is finally back on the frame. Painting some of the engine parts currently. Going to finish up the engine wiring tonight and start putting on the painted parts once they dry.

Now let's check out those fresh body mounts shall we.

That engine is looking clean. Shame they never stay that way. When do you expect to have it running?

Tomorrow I plan on firing it up. Hoping the shop next door decides to stop being cocks and turn the air on for us to use. We decided to turn their water and cut the breakers for their heater 😈. I gotta make battery trays. Gotta cut the steel for those and make radiator mounts. So tonight I am solely focusing on getting the engine wiring done and engine parts mounted on.

Yeah we will see if they wanna play nice tomorrow. If not, I will probably come over seeing how you are just a hop, a skip, and a belly crawl away. Trying to get every thing done so I can relax. Just look at Zac and strum my fingers at him while he does his magic. Still waiting for the headliner to come in so he get started on putting the Ivan Stewart stripes in it.

He did get a 1UZ for his 60. So we got that swap ahead of us. Now that my mine will be running top, I may have to drag race him lol. So much work to get done for SAS.

That should be a cool swap. that V8 will still probably win, though.
I mean 0-60.... yes.
1/4 mile.... yes
A mile.... yes
Now an endurance race on 1 tank of fuel.... nope lol.

It's all about challenging others in a manner where you know you will win.

torque off. EZ win.

Strap bumper to bumper. Put it in drive instead of over drive, 4 lo, and make those 4.56s work. **** it, u-joints are always a fun job.

That would be interesting. Since you both agree that my 37s are the same size as his 35s. We both will have H55s. I believe the flashed ECU he got for it will put him at 500 ft lbs.

No way. Those engines stock put out max 280ftlbs. A tune ain't giving you 220ft/lbs of torque. Unless that thing is seriously built and outperforming my dedicated torque built stroker.

I'm not much of a gas guy, but I got a buddy that tunes them. He was telling me without any head work done and just slapping a turbo and ecu on, you can get around 500 hp. That's why he loves them because toyota over engineered the s*** out of it.

I can't believe you didn't torch that wacky SUA lift block setup and go SOA on this thing while you had the body off

Well don't really have the equipment to do that is main reason. Hell we can't even get the shop next to us to turn on the damn air compressor on to use ( the lease gives one compessor for the 2 shops). I did start giving Zac a list of tools that are needed to start doing bigger jobs. The second reason is that the SUA didn't ride bad down the highway. No wobble, no pulling, no chasing. I still think the setup can work. I still want to say the contributing factors to the roll over was bad body mounts, no rear shocks, and the rain we got didn't help. I am going to the get everything together and test the flex. Need to do that for the new shocks anyways. I never saw what Jason gave as the final travel numbers after he put the new leafs in. he tested it before, got the rear tire up pretty high if you and @GLTHFJ60 remember Jason's Gossamer forum. I can always make sway bars for it, add bump stops to the axles, add or take leafs out. Which that maybe it because the leafs are still curved with all the weight on them. That will only cause more bounce when the upward flex is released back down. So many different variations and combinations can be worked with before I go hacking away at perches that are welded on the sides and bottom of the frame. I will save that for when Jason finally get his coilover kit together for the 60s w/o needing 80 axles.

So yesterday after I got it running I did some more repairs. The brake lines that run from the PV, across the firewall, and down to the junction block got stretched out when we pulled the tub off. Not a big deal (ended up grabbing another set off of one of the 60s we have for parts) but the junction box didn't have the bolt that holds it to the frame. While straightening the lines, the little line to front brakes got kinked. I couldn't use a line from any of our part 60s because the junction block was different. Went to Napa and used a socket to make that Barney Stinson line look more Niel Patrick Harris. The starter sits right next the junction block and I didn't want that whore meeting my nice sweet virgin brake line.

I made heat shields for the down pipe. I saw how rusty the wrap made the pipe so I wanna keep it raw.

Lastly I am going to call the POs here. I know some of you still talk to them, so please inform them of this PSA. I don't who it was so let their guilt eat them alive. STOP WATCHING PORN! you need help. Porn lies to you and causing you to then lie to yourself. A 1/2" male fitting does not fit into a 3/8" hose hole. You only beef curtained the vacuum booster line you sick man. I understand that the brake booster is a 3/8 fitting and the the vacuum fitting is a 1/2. Use a step down adapter instead turning this simple task into a damn donkey show :deadhorse:

That concludes today's Ted Talks.

I know I haven't posted anything. Just super busy trying to meet our deadline for this project. So here is a quick breakdown of the cooler stuff.

New gages and sensors installed so everything works.

G9t the duel batteries in. I will install the shutoff relay later today after the fenders and doors are put on.

The custom headliner and winch cover will be made this weekend.

Seeing a theme yet?

Waiting for the Windows to come back from the tint shop. $400 bananas but the tint job comes with a transferable lifetime warranty. So why not?

Carpet will be going in either Sunday or Monday.
