Dig, just a general PSA - if yer locking up yer rig with a Club, add in a few more locks just to be sure.

Unfortunately, I have to keep my Cruiser on the street. We have Creepers where I live, and there's one in particular who seems to take a shot at my rig every 8-10 months. They have a full set of toyota keys, a slim-jim, and a jig that can bend the club right off the steering wheel. The last time they spent the night in my drivers seat, they were foiled by the clamp on the transmission/e-brake. They even removed the center console and bent the ebrake to the side 40 degrees or so. (and alas, have put me out of commission until I can afford to replace the lever).

Every time they come back, they're prepared for the next challenge. So I try to stay 2-3 more puzzles ahead of them. Don't describe yer security solutions on this forum, cuz it's pretty likely the Creepers are reading 'em here too! Hang on to yer Cruiser!

Sucks we have some tweakers on our street and pretty sure they tried to get in through the door lock a few months ago. Didn't make it but had to replace and rekey.

Pull the wire on the ignition-distributor would stop most unless they had a tow truck. But if so they wouldn't mess with all this

that's a ton of effort they're putting in on your rig... I wouldn't be suprised if they tried dollies and a tow truck next... that's way more than what the average opertunist would do...
Sorry you're having to deal with s*** like this... I'm originally from the Portland area... haven't been back in a long time (15 years or so) sad to see what it's become.

Install a kill switch on the fuel relay/ no fuel wont drive. It wont stop them from trying to tow it.

Take the wheels off and deposit them in four random locations around town.

I honestly cannot imagine living like that. :bang:

Wtf, I would hide in a big duffle bag in the back with a 10" dagger and let them steal it. Than when they are driving away get them from behind. Like a horror movie 🤣 🤣

I would also consider rigging up some blank 12 gauge shells with something like this.

Just make sure to really use blanks, especially in Snortland....

So you live in Somalia or something? Sounds like it's time to leave.
its tough to judge someones living situation. Some people are stuck where they are due to circumstances beyond their control.

That said, good insurance is your best investment in this case.

Makes me feel fortunate to have a garage where my truck sleeps cozily until next needed.

I'd try to get to know the neighbors in the vicinity and offer to buy them a Ring or other camera system. Around here in case of a significant crime, the cops always go looking for outside cameras to see what may show up.

If nothing else, maybe make a bold, easy to read card to leave on the steering wheel that reads, "Smile, you're on Candid Camera!" and give them something to try to guess where that might be.

I think Somalia would probably be safer than any major city in the USA.

Leaving something as valuable as raspberry rose soda in clear sight is a bold move. No wonder they keep trying to take the cruiser.

Good luck on keeping it secure, each step that makes it more secure (other than keeping it in the garage) will also make it a bit less convenient to drive. I'd start with a serious kill switch setup such as a Ravelco.

Years ago when I lived in Seattle my neighbor had a highly modified VW GTI that he kept in his carport. When he wasn't driving it the wheels were removed and stored inside and it sat on jack stands. Someone could still steal it if they wanted, but it would be a lot more involved.
