January 28, 1967. Thanks Paul…..Happy Birthday! When was the special day of birth?
The summer of LOVE1967
I can’t see how it could have be in a positive way !had a very interesting conversation with the proprietor concerning the good ole United States of America.
The built rear axle out of the Champ 1 is about as ready as it will get for paint on my watch. Has anyone ever painted over rust converter the same day. The directions request 24 hours prior to top coat. This tractor sure does come in handy.
58 and sunny following. Several days of hard rain. The creek swole over its banks.

The can said best to wait 48 hours to top coat the rust converter. I waited about 20 hours.I haven't used that stuff, but I do use Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver and it can be ready to paint within an hour. I swear by the stuff.
The conversation involved myself and the two guys working there. One guy 64 and the other 49. We were all on the same page. However, I recognize that what concerns people today is not “America” it’s the unAmerican that exists here. All we have to do is stomp its guts out.I can’t see how it could have be in a positive way !
I have never be more concerned in my 65 years![]()
Serious question:So the last post was from yesterday but I failed to send it so now the rear axle done and painted with MRO flat black. The tractor is my favorite tool. Next is installing the front axle.
I decided to have new, longer front and rear brake hoses made. Dropped those off today and had a very interesting conversation with the proprietor concerning the good ole United States of America.

The welds went on slowly. I weld slow. The bottom of the housing is a truss welded on at the factory so there is a good bit of extra steel for support there already. I did what I did because I foresee a lot of frustration being taken out on this rig next year or whenever I get this rig on the road. I received notice that the turbo kit shipped!Serious question:
Have you rotated your axle shafts after all that welding on the bottom of that housing?
That much welding on the bottom could easily warp the housing and pull the outer tips down towards the welded side as the welds shrink as they cool.
We understand all that but did you try to rotate axles shafts? The welds went on slowly. I weld slow.
