Do the rear bottom reflectors bolt on or are they glued on? I hate to pry on it if they are bolted on.

Don't hold me to this, but the backing plate bolts to the body and you have the reflector, chrome ring and a round spring retainer, at least on a 71. I think they did change in the newer years.

They either bolt on with studs or screw on around the chrome ring, depending on year. They do not glue on.
It would help us a lot to answer your questions if you would just start a build thread. Give us some basic information like the year of the 55 and a few photos. Then ask all your questions in that thread instead of starting a new thread every time. Of course you don't have to do that; it's just a suggestion.
Edit: I see in your taillight thread that you said it's a '72. Looks like there should be two screws through the chrome trim ring.
