I've had mine for a while now but haven't installed them. Now that my sliders came in i'm going to paint these and install both at the same time. I know i'm overthinking this, how is everyone drilling the holes? Are you mounting the skid then drilling the hole with the skid in place? If I need to remove the skid to replace the lower control arm, can I reuse the lock nut?

I’m going from memory. I mounted it, clamped it up tight to the frame, drilled it, put the screw in and held it tight and tighten the screw. The goal is to not strip the screw going in.

The nut is a torque nut, this article has some info on reuse when it not seated and when seated. Make you own conclusions.
Effect of Reuse of Locknuts with Prevailing Torque Locking Feature

Use a ratchet or a low power impact 3/8". Also I like to use soap or oil on the bolts before installing/cutting the threads. I've re-torqued the M14 nut/bolts a few times with no issues.

I went wheeling last weekend and my stock bracket took a beating. I could really use a pair of these, are they still available?

Thanks, it's the new velcro TT patches.

Wow Jason, that’s awesome! How would I go about getting one of those to add to my collection?

I hope they are finished up at the embroidery shop this week. I'll send some out to specific customers but they will be on th ewebsite next to my hats for sale.

Whats the point? Not like the control arm bracket is flimsy

I guess it depends on the driver.... :wtf:

Any chance you make these for the 80 series OR are going to make them?

N,

I had some made before leaving WY and they are in a box somewhere. Never got a chance to fit them to check fit. The 80 series bracket angle is better than the 100 and WAY better than the 200. The 200 seems like a wall in comparison.

I've had guys come into the shop that the arm bushing housing was wearing thin from rubbing the beat up brackets.

I'll look this weekend to see if I can find them. If not, I've been meaning to look at them again. Just not a high priority.

cool, thx Jason, let me know if you have a pair. I was poking around the garage tonight and realized that 2 stock tow hooks put in the right place in that position actually would work nicely as a slider plate. 3/16 inch steel too. I will have to make a thread to show what I have. I always like to use stuff I have around the shop if possible. :)

Even then those still look functional

So is this:

Just because they are still functional most of us don't want to go through the trouble of welding new ones in or having them in the way of the control arm movement. It's better to replace bolt on shields than chop up and weld oem ones.

YOLO

One of my 200 customers installed a set of my skids and they didn't last a season of hard wheeling. They were almost gouged all the way through to the factory mount. So I made him a set might last 2 seasons for him... HA!

~3/8" of HSLA plate. yikes.
