Does it touch the shift fork at any point throughout its range of motion? Is it supposed to be a sensor or switch that goes to a dash light to let you know you’re in low-range?

So the big intimidation was not as bad as I had imagined. My boy, dave, tire into it and now I should be getting the real repaired case back tomorrow!
Fill it and the transmission and then the engine, and then…

There is logistics involved here that make the process Soo slow.

I guess I’ll know more when it’s all said and done.

Got the case back and on. Still gotta put the other stuff back on. I had to split to the dentist to get a crown. Supper fun!

Hope to be able to conclude this hiccup today, and get the transmission and transfer case filled today.

Learning how I will service this area was cool. I had to tilt the drive train to get access to all the case bolts. No bad at all.

Stubby nub got you down? Don’t fret, its vestigial.

As other pointed out the sensor is the low range shifter on a FJ62 case.

Because that case was changed to manual actuated transfer instead of the stock vacuum actuated transfer.

They changed out the inner shift rail and fork. So that sensor is useless and you can swap in a plug. IIRC you can use a FJ60 diff fill plug.

Thanks scrapdady.

The grill light's holes don't match up so I will bbe making a bracket of sorts. The turns signals had to be heated to make fit. I think it's a great mod, making the whole assembly way more sturdy!

Boy! my exhaust is going to be crazy tight. Was planning on having someone do it for me, but it seems like alot of these guys are supper busy. None want the job. I guess I'm gonna learn

Gotta rally somone to help hold these doors. Maybe that was why I couldnt get the passenger side done, so many months back.
