Did you really just lightly bump it backwards or did you bang the s*** out of it? These diff's are notoriously strong and for that amount of carnage I'd like to think you banged the s*** out of it.

That is what I am wondering too ! I honestly did not bang the s*** out of it. If fact I was gentle, and it broke on the very first pull.

I was also surprised that it 'seemed' that it did not take much to break it. However, triple locked on flat (and dry) concrete would put a lot of strain on all the component. Tires were not going to spin under those conditions - something was going to break
 
Meh, chalk up to a learning lesson, a little $$ but not too much.
 
Are all 4 of your tires the same size? I know pulling in reverse is bad but damn! Zuk will get you fixed up right.

yes they are . (35in Toyo all terrain)
