I'm about to purchase a oem 2.5" lift but I am not sure which load to get. I was going to order heavy but I am worried it'll cause issues in the back. I have a front bumper and winch but nothing in the rear. I'd like to get a rear tire carrier and roof rack but that may not be for awhile.

Any recommendations where I should order from?

I've never seen a 2.5" OME lift over $1000. If you have a lot of extra weight on it (like armor and camping supplies) or its a purely offroading/camping vehicle I'd go with the heavy springs.

I used it once a year ago this past Oct. Otherwise it's used on the trails/camping. I do plan on getting a trailer.

If you don't plan on a lot of off roading, you might want to consider a stock height setup from any of the vendors here.
There are a few advantages to that setup. Lower cost being the first one and the lack of need of additional accessories, labor and costs.
You won't need to worry about caster correction, drop sway bars, extended brake lines, etc.

Dobinson replaced my ome and I couldn't have been happier. Went with the flexi coils and I am in love with them.

How heavy is your truck I was told the flexi work better with trucks that arnt very heavy. Is that true?

What made you go with Dobison?

There were a lot of good reviews on their variable rate springs and they seem to be the next step down from slinkys. If I recall correctly they make slinky springs but just don't put some of the costlier coils in them that slinky does.

Also I saw the stock height spring thread the Crikey Mike made and the person that posted their results actually had quite a significant lift from stock springs alone due to sagging from the old stockers. I ended up talking with mike and he talked me into their 2" springs and I picked up the Icon 0-3" lift shocks. I figure if its still not high enough I will add some .5" spring spacers.

From another thread

The Flexi coils are better for light vehicles kinda like rock crawlers per say. I would say the Tapered coils do a better job for overland rigs with bumpers and accessories. Otherwise the linear coils still do the job and with our shocks the ride is very good.

I don't have any experience with OME set up but I guess at one time it was the only game in town. When I chose my lift all my research indicated that there were much better option for very little extra funds. Based on feedback from this site I ended up getting a 3" ToughDog lift with foam front shocks and adjustable rears from @reevesci . He helped me make the right choices and I can't speak highly enough of them. The ride is just addictive.

Aren't they in Australia?

My icon settled to roughly 2.5” with a little weight, but rides great! Been great in the dirt too!
