My turn. I finally have some time, and can afford some good woodworking tools, so I've been busy. Had plenty of hard maple and black walnut, and some cherry, so I knocked out a pair of cutting boards. Glue up:

Went with a beveled bottom, which is the latest style:

Very nice, @KLF !!

Would you can consider making something like that to spec for the cubby in the back of a GX 470 door for a fild-down cutting board?? 🤔
21.75x9.5ish, with appropriate bevel to nest in this cubby...
😁😁👍

Hmmm... we should talk. Sounds like a cool project, definitely interested.

Fortunately I made my juice groove jig to accommodate a board up to 22" long.

I'll need to find a local rig to get better measurements and do some test fitting. How will you mount it so it stays put? A board that big is heavy.

Nice!
I bet with your jig you could plop a 3/4 inch (or whatever) board and the short end to reduce the length of the jig run. A bit of a spacer. 🤔

There are many-a-different motive for mounting cutting boards to the back of these doors, piano hinge tends to be the common way. As I overthink and overcomplicate a simple thing (and therefore accomplish nothing at all), I've seen later versions where people put nutserts into the metal framing of the door to give it much more strength rather than just hinging on the plastic.
There are all sorts of ways and means of keeping it secured up but commonly a paracord or some sort of light chain to hold it horizontal when deployed...

But yeah, I'm sure somebody in your hood has a GX would be psyched to help you out with it.!!

My jig is totally adjustable, so anything under 14x22 is easy to accommodate. The boards I just made are 12x18. My planer (Dewalt DW735) can go up to 13", so this is no problem either.

I'd be nervous about hanging off the plastic.

Looks like there is one person about 30 mins away, but I don't see any way to contact them.

KLF,

FWIW fellow Yankee Toy alum Mike Gavin has a GX470 here in Pepperell MA. I'm sure we could all get together and have a look at it with regards to mounting a cutting board in the back....

Hey Nick, that's a good idea. Haven't seen Mike in many years, would be good to catch up.

Problem now will be when... I just started today on building new cabinets for my daughter's condo. Need to keep on that as I don't have a heated garage, so I'm running out of warm weather soon. Simple shaker style, but I'm sure I'll take longer than necessary, I always do.

BTW, #1 son Steve bought this a few weeks ago, thought you would appreciate it. I think it's a 2018, gently used.

Very nice KLF! I'll have to get together with Steve for a ride...

Speaking of motorcycles; mine got a change of color.

It's kind of a B&+/$@ when dexterity is concerned, trying to get a cut off wheel to clearance something that's about 3/16"
thick ... But still the motto holds, AWG.

I just barely tapped the spinning cut off wheel with my fingertip and boy did that sting and bleed a lot.! 🤪🤐

I'll probably have to reset my phone's security fingerprint after the 3/4" vertical scar heals up.
😎

20hr later...

And some steri-strips to approximate the edges. 😎

But now after a real final couple coats of paint (in just a tiny bit more grinding now that I have the right Dremel bits.), I think we'll be ready to mount this and see how it works.... 🤙

1/4” oak strips. Some mild sanding tomorrow and then I’ll cut them into 3 planks each. After that I’ll cut and lay them into the doll house. Then belt sand and stain/seal.
