Mobile work bench project: Part 1
Upcycling an old desk. Used 2x4s for a base, then put 6" casters on it. Stands at bellybutton height. Desk top is 6'x2'. The Craftsman parts boxes (one on the top orlf desk) will be in a rack between the cabinets.

I have two more benches in the works. No pictures yet. I'm trying to reconfigure my garage so I can secure the benches together to make a large table (6'x6') if needed, while also being able to use them in various configuration (L shape, U shape, etc). I'm still working out how I will connect them.

Part 1.5:
I put a floor using some scrap wood (1x4's).
Then using more scrap boards (1x12), I added some bracing for the 1.5" angle I had laying around.

I think the next part will be to knock out the back panel (behind the hardware organizers), and add some wiring and plugs, so I can have a cordless charging station built into the cabinet. I'm looking into recessed outlets, since none I have laying around would work well.

I’ve been replacing the fence over the past few months and have built 5 gates. Have been thinking about ways to hold the gates open when needed. Have also been working on replacing the wheel cylinders and brake shoes on the 40, so I made use of some used land cruiser parts.

Prepping for a pergola...

I've been slowly learning the ins and outs of CNC. Here is a nameplate that I created in Fusion360, milled on a Tormach 1100M vertical CNC mill, painted, and then polished. It turned out pretty much exactly how I wanted it to. It's about 1.5" x 7.5" for reference. It's pretty amazing to be able to draw something up and then hold the finished aluminum piece in your hand!

So, chickens are cheeky and escape artists and kids (well, one) don't want to clip wings, so the tallering of the 5' chicken run is happening. Confobbled these outriggers (wove rebar through mesh and some set in conduit).

Then repurposed a failed death ray into a gate (made the hinges and pounded a pole in the ground)

Oh, and I've never heard of "fiddle-farting" before. I always heard "bumble-dicking and fumble-farting"... Guess it's a regional thing.
@PAToyota
Bahh!
Fiddle-farting in print! 😆🤣

I got it mounted on my toolbox...

I am planning to experiment with some different badges. Something like this - rectangular, relief cut - is obviously the easiest. Also, getting into "production" may run afoul of Toyota as opposed to doing personal stuff.

Greetings fellow fiddlefarters !! Totally hilarious “nitch” of the whole website  !! Creative ideas are swirling about in even the most mediocre of fiddlefarters.

Professional fiddlefarters are few and far between...most people are gaping at their smart phones with drool forming in the corner of their mouth, as they slowly morph into “
birdbrains !”
o_O But NOT the fiddlefarter.
All hail to active fiddlefarters !! 👍

I guess I should've clarified that a bit better. I know Mr.T still offers the Land Cruiser hatch emblem. I was curious if you had any thoughts on a personalized (or non-copy-right version - different font, format, or something) that would be a more cost effective replacement?
I had a strip off the old emblem, and am too cheap to spring a couple hundred for a plastic piece that will be the nicest, newest part on my rig.
But a cool replacement piece that's CNC'ed and will past would be awesome and more cost effective. Plus, you could have it's say something like "it's a Land Cruiser, not a Jeep" or something far more clever

Mom wanted some yard art for Christmas, figured I could make it instead of her buying something. Going to do a little sanding, then paint. :)

Fiddle-fixing 😇
Weeks, nay, months ago my dutchie lid fell from the shelf and broke....

We'll see if this blows up during the heating process, but solid core MIG seemed like a reasonably accessible way to keep the dutchie in service . The Googs supported other people fixing cast iron with weld, so why not!

In hindsight, I should've tacked the little pieces to the lid first for the best fit, rather than tacking together and trying to fit one piece into the gap...

Psssh! Who needs toes or hearing ability!

Its good to see kids getting into the garage/shop/ outside and learning to disassemble and build stuff.

Parenting win right there! (even without the PPE in the first picture)
