Thanks to all of you. This is some fun stuff seeing ideas I've had for 17 years come together. As each piece gets installed I say, "Wow this thing is actually starting to look like a FJ35" which gets me even more excited to work on it. I am taking my time without any sense of rush and really enjoying this part of the build.

Thanks to Nathan I just may have a set of FJ25 wheels heading my way. Like the front bumper this is something I wanted but was not really expecting to get for the build. If that happens it looks like these wheels and tires are going black and heading to my FJ60.

Jail bars were found on the FJ28s, 35s and even the early 45LVs. Just this week I found an image (I can't believe I didn't save it) of a very early 45V that not only had the jail bars, but also the FJ25 wheels, front bumper and these crazy fender mounted turn signals.

EDit: This early 45V also has the air vent intake centered in the brow above the windshield.

Thanks, I appreciate that. There's a repop 25 gas cap I've been watching on ebay but it's $300 and I've got a lotta dollars to spend on other things right now.

Here's a funny thing about the turn signals. I drew the ones I had made off of the original FJ35V photograph well over 10-15 years ago. This photo is obviously from a distance with no detail. And then only 2 weeks after I pull the trigger on having them made the originals were found not by one person but by two different people within a week and these images posted showing a much different base than what I had made. Oh well. One of these brothers is on MUD and planning on making them and when that happens I'll switch them over.

Here's what the real deal looks like on the inside. There's a steel light shield blocking light from the front to the back of the tuna can. Without this the front clear lenses look red.

Here’s those above lights done and ready for paint. They have gone to another Early Land Cruiser enthusiast. John

Thanks for sharing them John.

Dumb question how do the lenses stay in place? They don't have the 3 screws like the slightly newer ones.

The plastic is threaded on the outter edge and screws in.

The reason they switched to 3 fasteners is road vibration would cause the lenses to loosen and fall out.

I can't believe how far this wagon has come ............. looking FANTASTIC Gene!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Georg, I am having a blast putting this together now that the bodywork is finished. I contacted Eric C. and if I can get it finished by September I'm going to meet him at the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum "Cruiserfest" this year.

What is the function of that 2nd small lite on the fender? Never noticed it before... good eye @scoobiedubes!

...update. I just noticed another difference. The ribs on the lower rear fender are different. There is a long rib that extends forward of the gas filler over the rear wheel well lip. Interesting. Most of the LVs don’t have that rib.
