Enough snow melted to take a trip down to Denver and visit BD Company. I was a kid in a candy store. Got samples of window track, got door seals. Got started on fitting door seals.

I may, if there is enough interest, compile the part numbers, lengths and installation instructions in a new thread.

I knew you would have a blast there!

Starting to damage my calm.

inside of fenders never got painted....why the hell would you not paint them before putting them on the truck?!? The entire purpose is to put this back together and prevent future rust as much as possible....unpainted?!? seriously? I'm going to lose a couple days...but fenders have to come off, get seam sealer and truck bedliner.....should have been done before going on the truck, and before final paint...

Question.....the three on the right are all 8x1.25 thread count (the other is a 6x1, but also has number 4), what do the numbers mean? I know 4 is the most common. Where do the 5 and 6 go?

Those numbers indicate relative strengths of your bolts. Guessing the fours hold things on like window regulators and perhaps the fives and sixes are used in the engine bay?

I ended up going way down the rabbit hole today.....I was going to just clean up a couple bolts to put the engine compartment back together, it got out of hand.

the process was to degrease, then wire wheel, then sandblast, then acid etch, then paint. It is as close a match as I could get to factory without having a cadmium plating system (have a zinc plating setup, cadmium a bit more) The paint was a Gold base, with a light misting of Brass while the gold was still wet.

Tedious, but Zen-like. Good way to focus and regain the calm.

Good god man!
When reinstalling, will you be using baby seal fur-lined sockets?:p

Got rabbit holed again today....rear seat latch. I was not going to mess with it, but could not get it to function properly...ended up dismantling the whole thing, sandblasting, refinish. The latch pin got polished and zinc electroplated. New grease, oiled up the cable, now it works as it should.

got some little stuff done while waiting for stuff to dry...

cleaned, painted and made a new gasket for the fresh air vents

Bench bled and installed clutch master, hooked up all the hydraulic lines for brakes and clutch.

Put radiator support, hood latch support, headlight buckets on, test fit the grill.

Broke two of the plastic headlight adjusting tabs...bummer.

Same thing happened to me, so I welded in some nutserts and coated the threads with this product, so the adjusters don't back out.

Lookin good! I have one of those rear seat latches and have been lazy. You got me motivated now. Only bummer is that it leads over to the passenger side only.
For sure going to Zinc it like you did!
