Got a few projects knocked out today! Installed the tonneau cover on the M101A2, more progress on my rear storage box build, made a bracket to mount my quick release fire extinguisher holder on the front seat bolts, and wired up the fridge circuit with a volt meter and mini Anderson plug setup.

Still need to change the oil, install my front diff skid, tie down my box & fridge, and a few other little things before GSMTR mid June.

Glad that your property came out unscathed! I friend of mine is a real estate agent, and was getting to list up a home tomorrow...big tree fell right on it and went through the roof and some ceilings in the interior.

Looks like the starter on my 95 Tacoma crapped the bed. Only a couple weeks after the 80. Damn.
Been feeling like garbage, maybe some kind of mild flu. Need to work on getting better and then fixing the truck. Wish it had been the clutch safety switch, as that's a piece of cake.

Dang. Bad luck! Feel better soon. Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc usually do the trick. Can also throw in some Quercetin.

I've seen people complaining about that but I don't subscribe to any of the Toyota services so unless my engine sh!ts the bed before the short term ECM data logging overwrites I think I'll be fine. It was also sponsored by Toyota so it would seem difficult for them to void a warranty for doing something they want you to do. I suppose we'll see. My GRC only has 6000 miles after 18 months of ownership so I doubt I'll be using my dealer sponsored lifetime warranty.

Glad to see that you are stretching her legs...I bet it was a blast! Agreed that if it was a Toyota sponsored event that they could give you too much crap on what you were doing...that said, I've never had to deal with any warranty situation in any car that would have been questionable due to use.

well it isn't LC at all but.. .I spent my morning with my Dad cleaning up and cutting back the grass on Rt29 & rt 40 north of Columbia so we could put some signs and flags up for Memorial day at the 29th Div. sign. It is something that my Dad has been doing for a while every year he can and when I can I gladly help out.

We got a few honks as we were working so that was kinda cool. Hopefully the signs last longer this year. Every time we do it it seems that the next time the road crews cut the grass they knock them down and/or trash them so this year we really cut a big section down so they cant use that as an excuse that they were in the way of the cutting!

Had a visitor, Mason and his family are doing a 50 state road trip in a 55. Such a cool truck and cool story. They stopped in for some quick repairs and to stay the night. Got up this morning made them breakfast and did some shark teeth hunting at the beach before they got on the road. But not before he tossed me the keys and let me take it for a spin

You can follow his journey here is you would like

Looking good Eric

Did the passenger side CV over the weekend with a friend after being quoted $770(!) in labor to have a shop install it, even if I supplied the part.

Not too hard of a job. Hardest part was getting the old one out of the front diff.

Not sure if this really counts since I’ve decided to throw money at this project instead of fixing it myself (the TLDR is that my brakes and rear differential went out at the same time), but the upside is that I’ll be getting a locking rear diff out of the whole process. The shop was able to source a used 98-99 LC rear axle with locker, for now they’re just gonna put it on and I’ll focus on getting it all wired up and working when I get the truck back.

I’ve heard that 98-99 LXes like mine are partially pre-wired for the rear locker because it was an option on the Canadian market LX and the Cygnus. Hopefully it’ll plug right in and I’ll finally have a truck capable of conquering Flagpole Knob.

Replaced the starter on my 95 Taco.
Harder than the 80 I did a few weeks ago, but not too terrible. Maybe 3 hours, all in. I've read that the 3.4 4WD with auto transmission is a brutal job.

Next up, upper and lower ball joints on that truck.
