Had my Nomad Convoys fitted a few days ago, I'm happy with the look, but since they're 0 offset, they stick out quite a bit. Still have to do some heating with the fender liner since I'm rubbing a bit against that and the passenger side end of the bumper.
Did some research into fender flare options, turns out there aren't many for the 100 Series, it's basically just Kut Snake out there. Here in the US, a set will put you back about $500. However, though dumb luck, I stumbled upon Proffitt's online shop, where they had a "New Old Stock" set listed for just $100. Gave them a call, spoke with Jeremiah, and it turns out that a customer ordered the kit a few years ago to put on their factory offset Hundy, but was talked out of it. Ordered immediately, the price was right and if I change my mind I can probably get that money back by relisting them in the Classifieds.
So I'm thinking about a few things now:

So I'm thinking about a few things now:
- Should I paint them, and if so, what color? There's a slight mismatch between the wheel color and the body color, and it turns out that Lexus Golden Pearl (aka fancy white) is pretty difficult to replicate. I bought an "OEM-matched" paint pen to fix some earlier deep scrapes and it didn't match the body white at all. I know basically nothing about painting so I also have to look into whether I need to use primer and then later some kind of clear coat. The flares are ABS plastic and I've seen some pictures of them painted, makes them look a lot better IMO.
- Can I get away with a DIY install? I've never really done anything like this before, but looking through some 80 Series threads here, it doesn't seem like too difficult of a job with an extra hand to hold the flares down while drilling the holes in. I'm comfortable drilling into the body since there's already quite a big hole for the snorkel, which was installed under previous ownership, but I don't know if this is the kind of thing where experience really matters...
