When does the dealer expect the Tremor to be built and delivered?
They’re saying 4-6 months but they could be under promising planning to over deliver. Some options like bed liner and 5th wheel packages are causing delays so i left those off the order in hopes of getting it sooner. Some guys are getting them in as little as two months but it’s kind of a wild card scenario as to when they’re delivered.
 
Had some fun with button heads when working on my frame. I know, that sounds really bad, but it worked out pretty well.

I had to remove some frame rivets to install the new spring plates and hangers. Some rivets were missing or sheared off, so I replaced them with black oxide button head bolts with 5mm allen’s and 12mm serrated flange bolts on the other.

Now, I hate bondo more than most, but if you put a little filler in the allen hole and a coat of paint they look nearly identical to factory rivets. On one factory rivet that was sheared off, I plug welded a button head to it. Of course, if you look on the inside of the frame you’ll see the flange nut, but to the casual observer they look OEM.

Running new NiCopp brake and fuel lines down the passenger frame rail. I don’t think any of the original tabs and hard lines are available anymore, so I picked up some stainless line clamps, drilled out the holes to fit M8 bolts from Overland Metric and started mocking up my lines. Added some loop hangers to run the electrical lines too.

I think I've solved my month old mystery... Re: Would a 200 series have been taken out of commission by the rock that took out my 5th gen 4runner up on flag pole/switzer? The answer is a definitive "No!"... with the help of the 200 tech forum, we have now completed analysis and determined that the 4runner front diff lacks a front diff mount guard that would have prevented a similar catastrophic failure in a 200 series... anyone know what it looks like here under a 100 series? Would a 100 series also be spared the carnage of a cracked diff and oil pans?

Looks to me like it could just hit behind the diff guard and screw things up there.
Anything can happen at anytime.
Doesn’t matter 100, 120, 150, 200 s*** happens.

Naw... I think that 200 front diff could have taken the hit. It's way beefier. Way bigger bolts and the vulnerable part is attached to the bracket and has that guard while the 4runner diff is exposed and not supported at the round part where it took the hit.
 
Sounds like you need a 200 series.
Now with the aftermarket skid my 4runner should be good to go but, regarding the 200 and it's ability to get bashed around fresh off the showroom floor... I mean just look how they bash this truck around in testing!

The 4runner looks to have a cast steel diff and the 200 looks to have an alum diff. Is that correct? If so the steel should be fine but you must have "wacked" it just right or going too fast???

Now you know why a Land Cruiser cost more than a 4runner. It is all about the little stuff they put on them to help them survive the World. The 4runner is a North American market vehicle.

I found a pic of a 100 front diff in the 100 tech forum... compared to the 4R front diff, I think it looks like it wouldn't get pushed into the engine as easily. It looks similar to the 200 front diff in that way. While the 200 front diff is all aluminum, it looks like the 100 front diff is just aluminum in the front. Obviously, aluminum tends to crack in situations when steel will bend. The main mounting point on the 100 front diff is right at the diff housing, where the 4runner got thwacked. The diff housing is much more exposed on the 4R and the mounting points are supported by much thinner and longer steel bracket arms, which allowed leverage for the diff to get pushed up into the engine and crack the aluminum upper oil pan on the 4R.

I was 30 feet behind you when you went over that rock and to this day I have no idea how that rock hit your truck. I thought you stopped to take a picture of the pond that was off to the left.
