That's the same gas station I get ethenol free from

Yeah my last 2 bulk non-ethanol buys have been from this place. Discovering they sell off-road diesel was a strong bonus. I think it's just over the county line from PWC to Fauquier which I assume is why they're allowed to sell non-ethanol. Sure would be nice to get some of that action in Fairfax.

it’s the Country Life! Ethenal free gas and Off road Diesel at the corner market.

neat history in that location. the Catlett market and the Trenis hardware store there have been there a long long time. The hardware store has been at that location since the mid 60's but it has been in operation since 1866. The fuel and oil operation served my dad's old restaurant with fuel oil for years until they sold the fuel oil part off. They sell a lot of off road diesel there for farming operations and a bunch of the construction companies are there in the early morning hours filling up tanks for equipment as they head into northern VA.
the hardware store is a honest old hardware store with lots of fittings and "weird" hardware that you won't find at home depot or Lowes. Kind of like a J E Rice of manassas but out in the country.

It is also a location where Jeb Stuart led one of his famous raids behind enemy lines.

That’s just down the road. If you go south about 1 mile past Elk Run rd you will come to a bridge over a creek. To the left is where the skirmish took place.
The road to the right is appropriately named Battle road.
The markers are there on 28 but because there is nowhere to really pull over no one ever goes to check it out.

... no one ever goes to check it out...
This sums up civil war history in this area in a nut shell. Really sad considering how much there is. My wife is big into local history and found a book on ebay of all places put together by the Manassas museum and it captures the history of Manassas pre and post antebellum, including ancient black and white photos. It's unreal.

Worked on swapping out a fuel pump for my cousin. Line was broken at the pump from when he tried to take everything off. Tried seeing if I could get it. Ended up having to drop the tank and taking the short rubber line off where it met the hard line. Tomorrow I'll put the tank back up and hope she runs.

Haha! Yea I told him those wheels need to go before he's actually driving it around again.

I have been preparing my FJ62 for sale for quite some time. It was at the body shop all summer for dent repair and a respray. After I picked it up this fall, the LS motor starting making an utterly atrocious noise about twenty miles south of the body shop. I got a tow back to Annapolis.

At first I thought I had a rod or something else let loose, but more than one person told me it sounded different, and indeed the noise sounded like it was coming from the bell housing. The leading theory was a cracked flexplate.

I decided to pull the trigger on an idea that I had been playing with anyway -- putting a new motor in it to help the resale value. The original motor had come out of a 2002 Chevy Silverado and had 154k miles on it when installed. So I would be advertising a truck with a 19-year-old motor with around 175k miles and piston slap. The piston slap is inconsequential. It is a common LS bugaboo, it doesn't hurt a thing, but it sure doesn't sound good in an ad.

So I had crate motor shipped to @TRFCSUX house from Summit Racing. It has 100 horsepower more than the stock motor, but better yet has no mileage and no piston slap. With the help of @TRFCSUX, his nephew Riley, @Jakes40, his father, @afgman786, and Vince Dooley we started tearing the old engine down on Friday afternoon. By Sunday afternoon, the new engine was in the truck with about half the components reinstalled. There is at least one good day of work left.

FYI, it turns out the problem was loose bolts connecting the flexplate and the torque converter. One had completely sheared off and the other two were halfway out.
