Benzosd, good show. Been pondering doing similarly to my 2002 LX470.
Do you have any before and after photos?
What was you cost outlay for the controls and for the radio, if I may ask?
I listed everything I used/bought here. Non nav dash controls and pigtails was about $150.

Anyone else have this issue, where the dial for temperature control seems to only offer max heat until I get all the way over to the AC setting?
This started happening to me yesterday too. Mine worked fine for 1.5 years after the delete and now it is max cold when all the way counter clockwise and max hot everywhere else. I'll try to dig into it this weekend. Let me know if you figure anything out.

I can add some photos for sure. I got the A/C dash control from a yard with pigtails for $125. It did have the wood grain but after removing the plastic wood and cleaning it up it looks great. I used the Metra 70-8113 harness for now. I plan on doing the new amp and speakers at a later date. I went with the Pioneer as I've always ran their units and have never had any issues. I have a old AVH in my Tundra that has been rock solid for 15yrs now. A little more pricey then the Alpine or Sony units but definitely worth it in my opinion. Super fast interface and easy to use. I did have to buy the double din toyota brackets, they ran about $45 for both. All my functions worked right from the start, the only hiccup is the outside temp sensor display is not showing anything. It may be a loose wire, I plan on checking this weekend. I can't explain how nice it is to have my LC up to date now and rid of that old nav unit. So much more functional and controls are nice to use. I ran the mic for phone from the HU up to the steering wheel dash, in the right corner. And ran the gps under the dash to the left and came up to the left corner of the windshield. You don't have to remove any dash parts as the wires are nice and small. I'll gather some pics and post them.

Yes I have this issue please let me know if you find a fix.

Are you guys saying you're getting max temp heat at all settings until you get to cool or you're getting max fan speed?

Assuming we're all having the same issue, it is max heat temp at all temps until the dial is all the way counter clockwise on max cool, at which point you get max cool temp. The fan speed dial on mine works fine.

Has anyone changed out the bulbs on the 3 knob bezel prior to installing? Just curious as to what size I need to order. Considering going with LED.

Yes, I bought these and installed them. They make the panel light up orange - very warm color, which is cool, but I didn't know that. I didn't look closely for color. They are not LED.

Is this just for the dial knobs or all of the buttons as well?
I think its one bulb used across the whole circuit board. You'll need to completely disassemble the unit to reach the front of the circuit board to pop the bulbs out and replace them. There's a video on YouTube of it that includes how to solder new buttons in.

Just wanted to add this picture to the thread for those looking for a dimmer wire. I had originally hooked mine up to the orange wire, only to not have it work. Pulled out the multi-meter this past weekend and probed until I got voltage with the running lights on. Ended up tapping into this green wire and it works perfectly. Hopefully it'll help others.

Does anyone know if the 3 dial 98-02 climate control will physically fit in behind the post 02 3 dial facia? From what I can tell the button and dial layout looks the same between the 2,

Success! Took me a while to finally get around to addressing this issue we seem to all have. Turns out my issue was that the inside temperature sensor was not connected. I disconnected it when I was replacing the master cylinder and must have forgotten to reattach the clip when I was putting the dash back together. I took some pictures to show the sensor and the wire. Maybe you guys have the same issue. Free fix!

That's a great idea putting a Mr. Thirsty tube in there like the pilot's use!

My respect to the Trail Blazers who have documented their efforts and figured this out! Going to be one of the first major projects I tackle with my new daily driver. Anyone in Utah looking to hone their craft and bust this out for me? I pay in cash and Crumbl cookies. Lol I’m kidding, sort of...
