One of the latch plates was broken, so I swapped one from the old Belgian seat to the new one. Problem is, once I bolted the bench to the floor, the seat won’t latch to the receiver latches. It doesn’t look like there’s any way to change the alignment. I de-greased and then re-greased the latch mechanism and still can’t get it to engage. Anyone have any bright ideas?

Figgered it out.

The metal latches on the bottom of the bench seat were lined in plastic, probably to keep them from squeaking and rattling. Unsurprisingly, that plastic was all torn up after 27 years in Nicaragua. The ratty plastic edge was preventing the latch from engaging the floor hooks. I removed the excess plastic carefully (ripped it off with a pair of pliers) and now the seat latches down as it should. My kids can ride in the truck again!

Truck is Euro/UN. I found a bench seat on eBay. The bench seat is from Nicaragua.

The second row is looking pretty clean. Did you throw all the stuff in the back?;)

Cim, don’t look in the front passenger seat well.

But I DID vacuum the whole truck out. That, plus Mauricio’s Hotsy bath...old girl is almost respectable. ALMOST.

Had two guys try to buy it from me in the same Randall’s parking lot this week, 5 minutes apart.

Yup.

It was a good day out at the barn. @Spallet came over and helped me move some 80 axles that will eventually go under @Onur ’s 60 series project.

I got a Grizzly 20 ton shop press assembled that has sat in the box for at least three months. Now I won’t have to break @davegonz ‘s.

I've never liked flare-less 80's before I watched the transformation of your rig unfold. If it was mine I'd have to get BASIC B vanity plates for it :)

Yes, unless I go with the HJ61. Most probably this truck.

If a custom license plate wasn’t half of a PDI intercooler, I might have to go with:

Vanity plates negates the poverty pack experience. 😀

Picked up a new OEM driver’s seat bottom foam. Time to get some hog ring pliers and get at it.

Interested in how that seat foam project goes, let me know if you need a hand

This seat bottom came from Partsouq.

@mustardfj40, if you’re good with hog ring pliers and upholstery, I’d love a hand when I get around to doing this one. It’s pretty low on the priority list right now.

I have hog ring pliers and know how to work them.
