Guess I'll add mine. Been driving it every day for about 6 months now. Still getting to know the rig and just about finished baselining it. It's a 1970 first sold in 1971, with a Ford 351 and C6 transmission mated to the stock transfer case. Running 35 AT's on 17 inch rims, with upgraded later Fj40 disc brakes in the front and a FJ60 brake booster. Current plans are to convert it back to a soft top and make it an expedition/camping rig. Still running the original spare and rim from 1970!

Here I ran into his long lost twin brother in San Diego. Same color and only a year apart! Small world.

Nice rig! What adapters and/or fabrications do you have for the engine/tranny combo? I have a SBC in mine, but when that goes there is a 351C in my garage just waiting to be built. I have often thought about stuffing it in the 40, but there isn't much info on it.

It does look like it belongs on a Toyota Landcruiser brochure.
Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, Absolute perfection.[/QUOTE]

Second that. Can't tell why your UGLINA is like the #1. I guess it's the microscopic details that eyes can't tell. I think if we scan all the FJ40s with MRI/CT Scan yours has the most perfect body structure. It's a forever teenager's body and skin, no cosmetic, no botox, no make up, no lipo, no nothing :cheers:

@Speed King

I like your tires - which are they? How do they handle on a highway?

The tires are Generals, made in Ecuador. They wander a little but once you are rolling along they're fine- plus you get use to how they handle. I've had several vintage cars over the years with bias tires so I have a feel for it. Not for everyone I suppose.
