Daily Driver - 68 FJ40

1968 cruiser, been working on it for the past 2 years. No rust, dents or bondo. 1F, 3speed w/column shift, open differentials, non-USA vacuum advance distributor with pertronix and a 2 bl carb by Mark. Trying to keep it as unmolested as possible. It's been my daily driver since the VW quit running. I try and get it out into the local desert as much as possible. As for clean? Only when it rains......

Dadgum, there are some great lookin rigs around.

I'm new to the TLC and I'm learning lots from this site.

Here's my '75. She's at the shop getting a few upgrades. Hope to have her back soon.

Good eye Off Duty. Actually i replaced the SOR rear fender flares with a pair of newer 4" wide flares that required more trimming of the opening, but gives me plenty of clearance for the 35 x 12's im running.

Where did you pick up the wider flares ? I'll be trimmin to fit the 35's in my 76 this spring and need something that works and looks decent.

BAD ASS. Where did you find the 3B? Would love to replace my original B with a 3B turbo - I can do without other drivers cursing me out on the uphills ;)

If I ever build a 40, this is how it will look. All black.

Is that windshield modified? It looks really square.

Yes it is custom made by 1/8 inch square tube and plate, super strong. The rear tube is marine grade aluminum alloy 6061-T6.

fj40er...............looks AWESOME, NICE RIG FOR SURE

I just put my hard top on what do yall think?.

I think it looks great! Almost nothing as beautiful as a lifted 40 with the original hardtop on IMHO. Very nice rig!

Btw, what lift are you running? With those swing away shackles in the back it looks like you have a very good shackle angle, and probably a pretty good ride as a result... Also running a shackle reversal in the front I see...

Thank you for your thoughts. I love my Cruiser to. I am running a custom 5" lift kit made by Alcan, and yes I am running a front Shackel Reversal, But my rear shackels are custom Cantilever Shackels. And trust me when I say this, my Cruiser ride like a dream. Very smooth and handles great.
